 Just got off of working a 10 hour night and a buddy of mine wanted to take a look at my engine bay. We get to talking for a while and he asks if he can take a ride in it, I only had one seat in the car but I said okay. We are driving on a deserted highway and only going about 40 mph and I am getting on it and messing around when all of a sudden my hood flys up and and all I remember is that a lot of glass fell on my head and my friend who was kneeing on the floor and holding on fell back. I get the car stopped and we get out and my entire hood is wrapped around my windshield a the front is sticking into the sun roof. The sun roof completely shattered and the windshield was cracked very bad but did not break. Here are some pics. I like the one that resembles my avatar. I planned on getting a good windshield from the junkyard but have instead decided to make a lexan window instead.

Ouch, that happened to me a few years ago when I was setting my boost controller. I'll have to say it's quite the scary feeling when you're going 60 down the road and all the sudden you can't see. I had a carbon fiber hood on mine so it damaged the roof really bad as well. Ended up costing something like $2000 to fix.

We were not hurt to bad, just a lot of small cuts. Good thing my car was already completely stripped because it only took half an hour to vacuum out all the glass.

I did the same thing as well. And I had a cf hood like the other guy and my roof is wrecked.
