I spent my day getting my rolling chassis ready to sell, and it sold! And then I spent the rest of the day waiting for a tow truck to come so I could get the car to FFTEC and start ripping it apart more =]

Best Stinson meet ever! Awesome turnout. Well worth the wait. Pics below.

ROFL good one Dave

HAHAHAHA...I was around Sean the whole weekend and forgot to mention it. Oops

So what's up with that DSM/Evo dyno meet?

There's a NorCalEvo dyno day happening on the 30th of this month at GST. It might be a while before you can get all those evo's to sign up for another dyno day.

Not saying it won't happen, just letting you know that trying to set up a similar event close to that one might be a recipe for failure if you're wanting evo's out there. Although, this thread is full of fail already...

Agreed +1, I was visiting your work last week, I called you when I was getting lunch at the cafe but you didn't hear me. :)

If you saw me, you should have thrown something at me. That would have gotten my attention. :)

Don't feel bad guys. That's how it is out here too usually. DSM owners tend to be just as reliable as their cars these days. Don't depend on many (if any) showing up to any track events, dyno days, meets, etc. It just doesn't happen anymore. Even the ones who have running cars tend to flake. The biggest turnout I ever saw out in Norcal when I was organizing meets was about 10 cars, and most of them needed a good amount of TLC.

There doesn't seem to be enough passion, enthusiasm, and/or pride in the Norcal DSM scene to support having meets anymore.

I disagree. All the cool cars are down right now... we've seen 20-30 cars at Stinson meets before. It just didn't work out this year.

We had about 12 last year right? We even had that one meet at valley fair or something that had like 10 cars

i remember the first meet I went to at in and out in daly city a few years back. Thats where i met raul and mahesh. There were a good 8 or so cars there. All we did was stand in the parking lot and bs about our cars and how they suck while our girlfriends stood there like "damn these guys and their pos cars, why do they like them so much?" haha

The most fun i've had at "meets" was when we would go to Infineon wed night drags. I dont know if any of those will happen this year, hopefully next year people will have all their big setups ready and will be willing to go to as many drag days as possible.

As for the stinson beach meet, my car has been down for a few weeks and I really dont care at this point! My car isnt my #1 hype at the moment. It will get fixed, and it will go to the dyno to get a good tune, but its somewhat on the backburner right now. I just need to get excited about it and i'll have it back together and running hard.

I think our next dyno day will be based on previous numbers. No one wants to hang out and watch cars make less then 200 awhp on the dyno, it's not a good show. Once we get a few more high HP cars out, we'll eventually have one. For the most part, I agree with Ludachris, DSMers are not as reliable as they used to be, this is why we also take deposits for appointments.

Edwin does not have a G37, it's his mommy's car... hahaha.

Jerry

DAYM! the secret is out. hahahha

I raced my mommy's car vs a c5 the other day. Nose to nose up to 130mph (of course that was on the track...) I like my mommy's car. It does donuts really easily :D

A meet doesn't have to be big. Some of the most fun meets have been at Infineon or Sacramento raceway Wed night drags. Just 3 or 4 DSM's is OK since there's usually a few EVO's there, and somehow I always find someone who used to have a DSM. Plus there's the other cars and bikes to watch, make fun of the slow V8's, and generally BS all night.

There's a gathering planned at Infineon on Wed 27th, next week. There's a thread somewhere at Norcalevo with about ten guys signed up. I plan to go, I just don't know which car I'll bring out yet.

The Talon is not quite ready yet. I just need to fill it with oil, install the timing belt, cams, intake, exhaust, Tcase, change the chip, and pray I didn't miss anything. Then start it, verify timing, break it in and tune it.
Plus I'm getting 4 Slipstreams mounted with BFG's tomorow. Yes, I've been busy.

Yep, Mach III. I hope they fit, I'm almost 100% positive they will. I can see about one inch clearance between the caliper and my current 16" rims. If not, I have spacers.

I hesistate to tell much about this build since some of the stuff is not proven. If it all works like it should I'll be a longwinded blabbermouth.

Looking forward to seeing the car up and running again. I hope mine can be done in time for BOTI

haha.. I see you have some of your usual trickery up your sleve dave!!

Edwin, where are you at with your build? Did you finish your manifold yet? I want pics of that when its done!

I guess im the closest to being finished, haha i just need to fix the gasket and put an alternator in and then tune. Then get some tires for my evo wheels. Im still stuck between the dunlop direzza z1 star spec and the kumho mx. I think im going to try the dunlops, but the sidewall might be too stiff for drag racing.

Anyways, lets keep this forum alive people! Post updates on your setups everyone!
