click on the graph and put your mouse on it and move up the scale it will tell you how much horsepower it will take to run a certain time. make sure your car's weight with you in it is correct!! it seems to be pretty darn close to accurate!

Nice tool, but doesn't take into account the biggest variable of all .. the driver. My 500 HP eclipse managed an 11.7 @ 125 because I plain stunk at driving it.

Per the calculator it says:

Elapsed Time Method = 376.4 HP
Trap Speed Method = 464.9 HP

So, if I was a great driver it would be more accurate. Fun to try regardless. Thanks.

trap speed is usually the most accurate!

Last time I was dynoed with a limited set up I made 218HP and 219 TQ so im assuming that this is giving crank HP reading which would be pretty close to almost spot on with the trap speed calculations

I put in 2800 which is what I think we are about stock(even though I have A LOT of weight reduction) and it tells me for a 11 sec flat 1/4 mile I would need like 415. Trap speed needed to get 415 is 124mph. That's pretty accurate. Not my setup but the fastest 420a guy on this site is awddynamite and he ran like 11.09 @ 123.5. Only problem is he made like 443whp so the hp is a little off. I don't think it takes into account the fwd vs awd factor.

this really does show you though that a little weight savings goes a long way

I agree I left it at 3000 at first and it added A LOT to the estimated hp needed to run the same time. Actually if I leave the weight at 3000 the hp estimated adds up to exactly what the hp level was for the 420a car I stated above hmmm.

Edit: Nvm I just looked at his profile and it says his race weight is 3000 so this thing is spot on

I understand you are manipulating weight and 1/4 mile times, what are you putting for trap speed? Just trying to get a better understanding as this thing is off for me. Thanks.

BTW, if you don't mind, see the SC2 fiberglass hood for 99 eclipse thread revived in the Appearance/Interior/Exterior Forum to update us on that hood of yours. Thanks again.
