Well first of all the packaging was decent. I First saw a few bent fins but thats nothing to cry about. Then after a good look over i noticed a few thing's i did not like. First of all it seems like these cores were bought from some were else and then had the ends cut off and they rewelded an extension to it. It also seems like the ends they added on had so many pit holes in the material it looks cheap. The welding and craftsmanship at best is mediocre. I've seen ebay intercoolers with better craftsmanship then this one. The pipes were decent but nothing to brag about. In all for a 550$ set up. I would recomend an ebay set up and save your self some money$$. Below i will attach some photos that will show you my point.

The line goes around the whole end tank.

These pit holes are every were on the end tanks.

And even if they did add on extensions they should of at least make it look like one whole piece. My review overall is not a good one for the amount they ask they should be better quality and craftsmanship.. You are better off getting an ebay setup like i said before or if you want a brand name one i have seen the ets ones and they have better quality and for not much more then punishment asks for.

I know this is old but I will add my 2 cents. I bought my core from lan a WHILE ago. But I used to have the ebay long route kit. I have an install guide on here if you search. But I sold that kit to my friend with a 240. He used what pipe he needed and I used the rest of the pipe to make my own short route pipe kit for the lan ic. It was as if the ebay kit was two kits in one almost LOL.

This last year I went 11.90 on this kit with race gas 60-1 25psi.

But recently I got a KILLER deal on a sbr fmic. I used the same pipe just had to shorten it a bit. But I noticed NO difference in knock. Probably do to the bumper still covers most of the new sbr race fmic.

Here is a pic of me on my way to 11.90s.

Oh one complaint. I had a broken motor mount so my motor rocked alot and broke the right mount over a years time. I re welded it and was on my way. I would recommend a hump hose on the cold pipe somewhere.

432 hp on superflow dyno they usually read quite a bit lower than dyno jets again 25psi

So do they outsource their cores? It would make sense as they don't make 2g fmic kits probably becuse they can't find a good core to use or they are too lazy. It would take them less than a day to make a 2g fmic kit and they would be flooding the market with them. As long as they can get the 2gb foglights to stay on and have customers choose their bov. Also make an option for different piping for SMIM and n/t tb's with and without the SMIM.
I know I would have one by now.

Be live me good quality aluminum is not that expensive and neither is welding. I am sorry for starting this thread. I understand you perfectlt4cyl. But you have to understand me and belive me that I've seen ebay intercoolers with better quality.

EDIT: Didn't know how old this was, but since i typed this out I'm leaving it up LOL

Welding IS expsnsive, average TIG work (what's done to intercoolers) is about 65 an hour ( i charge 40 - 50 depending on the work being done) And aluminum is going up daily, steel has gone up almost 10 centrs a pound every week for the last 5 months.

I'm not trying to argue moot points, but honestly, to be as picky as you're being with a soft metal like aluminum is pretty much nit-picking, especially when this part wasn't sold as a show quality part. NO offense but when i'm bidding a house, fab work or any project, if i know the people are going to nit-pick the work down to imperfections used in the raw materials. Or people who will complain because I can't take an old set of cabinets and erase 30 years of children beating and scratching at them(especially after i tell them from the start "they will not look new, but they will look damn good) I'll bid it really high so that A.) i'm getting paid to fix imperfections in materials from the mill or make all the little piddly stuff look like glass; or B.) If i can tell they are really picky i'll try and bid as high as i can so that i don't get the job on purpose, and if i do it will be well worth it and give me enough to take a day or two off work while i pay a carpenter to replace panels, doors styles etc.... LOL

Being a contractor and being self employed for the last 6-7 years i can tell you one thing. ANYONE that's going to do a service for you or give you an estimate on a job will ALWAYS bid really high when they talk to you and see that you are that picky.. SOooo the lesson here is, you get what you pay for.. If you want to be that picky, pay the top dollar price so you CAN bi*** about finish and things like that on a part that should be more function than show from the get go.

By no means was this meant as a personal attack, So please dont' take offense. All i'm saying is that if you need things to be that perfect be prepared to pay for it. What i'm hoping you take away from this is the fact that being that picky will cost you money, time and a headache in the long run.

This thread just reminded me of a house i did recently...It was a kitchen re-model and they had pulled a flourescent lighing fixture from a ceiling that had been stained and lacquered in the 70's and the wood was deformed and discolored from years of light and heat.

I sanded it to bare wood, stained it, then dry bruished a dye stain on it and then re-lacquered the entire ceiling it was damn near perfect to anyone who worked on teh job and looked at it. Well, it was just not good enough for her ( and i had thrown this in as a FREE extra on a kitchen remodel) Finally i gave up after 3 attempts and told her to call another painter, as many as she wanted... Two others came out and told her that they could not fix it any better and that it was a good job done already, and that if she wanted it any better she'd have to replace the ceiling boards (like i had told her from the get go).. point being, you can only make something look so good before it gets into a whole other level of work and materials, (in this case replacing the ceiling) in your case, asking them to have scompletely virgin materials after cutting and forming them on metal working machines to fit the application you bought it for (talking the aluminum used on the end tanks) Hell even on delivery metals are so marred and scratched up it's not even funny.
