I'll admit, the linux one is much better. But come on, this is windows, you can't expect it to be better than linux.

Here's a screen shot of another program that I just found, it's a bit better (more practical):

Wow.. dOES this work on all versions of windows? I'm running "Windows XP Ultimate" (by JOhnny) It's a reworked XP with vista stylings and some of it's features. I like it because there's not all the microsoft crap running all the time and it seems better for video editing which is what i use to mainly do before my camera got destroyed by being drug on the ground from the 12 bar of a motorcycle in a wheely at our last competition (and i told the asshole , my best friend "don't take off on your bike, my camera is hanging from it" )

Also, anyone seen how much RAM this app eat up? I have no idea so i'm asking.

It won't load the page to download it... Booooo.

It should work fine with your OS. It takes up about 40mb of ram.

Anyone want to recommend a user friendly version of linux so that me, defiant and other knoobs can start our learning processes

Ram isn't a problem for me, it's just that it seems rather bloated for what it does. Is that a compositor, or is it just using snapshots on faux workspaces?

Works beautifully over here. But I'm also running an oc'ed 3.6Ghz Core2Duo, 2GB ram and an 8800GTS.
But the problem I'm having is that the wallpapers I select won't take. They will appear fine in the "cube" or whatever effect, and then as soon as I select which desktop I wish to use the screen turns to a solid color, the stock grey my desktop is supposed to use behind everything else.
It makes it so theres no point in using it.

I installed this in a VM running TinyXP. XP reported it only using 16m ram - not bad, but still a bit much IMO. I did notice it maxed the processor out, though, with Wave Cube and the Arctic skydome enabled. Perhaps the framerate is set too high?

It also disappeared Firefox from the taskbar, and I couldn't alt+tab to it, even though it was still resident.

It is pretty, but I couldn't help but notice it only rotates laterally, and stops rotating when the mouse reaches the edge of the screen. Maybe it only bugs me because this is not a limitation with Compiz.

edit: Trying it again doesn't vanish Firefox. I do like the idea (obviously) - Windows needs multiple workspaces to promote productivity, though I wish they were real and not virtual.

Depending on your linux distro, it will already be installed and just need to turn Compiz on, or you can just check the repo's.
