Well, I've got a smaller 'Honda' type battery located in the engine bay due to my Magnus SMIM. I'm currently using the factory battery tie down but find it lacking. Was wondering if any of you have made, or bought for that matter, battery boxes that resolved your issues. And I know there are a plenty of purpose made boxes to move the battery to the trunk but I'm trying to keep it up front and was looking for ideas based on what you all have done.

Found this picture on ebay, intended for a motorcycle but so far the closest to what I have in mind for my car:

Thanks for the help.

Have you looked at JM's kit?

The dimensions for the battery in the pics below are 7.15" L x 3" W x 6.61" H. If your honda battery has a similar size, it will fit.

Here is a cheaper alternative for the battery above.

I'm using a stinger battery it comes with a metal sleeve that it fits in. I took my emissions out and the plate for the stock battery and dropped the battery down. I bolted the sleeve onto the crossmember down there, and it fits perfectly with my smim. It was the cheapest way I could think of to get it to fit, and be legal for the track.

That JMF one looks real pretty. I wouldn't want something like in your first picture GSX. I think you'd take the chance of getting harassed at the track due to it not being a bolt down design.

Good insight, thanks for the ideas. Unfortunately my Honda sized battery is a tad bigger than the the JM kit will allow for .. but I'm going to stay with that battery as it affords me the ability to leave my doors open, stereo on, dome light, etc for longer than a few minutes that would drain the smaller batteries as pictured.

I'll see if I can have something fabricated and let you know how it all turns out.
