Yea, you'll be fine. I didn't have any AN fittings the night i put my t3/to4e turbo on in place of teh former b16g and so i cut the oil tube down, then used a similar rubber hose to connect the OEM drain line to the flange for the garrett turbo and it's been fine for going on 8-9 years or so. I put a spring in mine to avoid kinking and that was it, haven't worried about it and it's never let me down.

If it's oil rated, you should be okay. It's not carrying any pressure. For the return, a roof gutter would work fine, other than the dirt and rain.
I've never understood why people put up with the Mitsubishi drain line once they've cracked it. A silicone elbow and a couple of clamps would work just perfectly, as it does on many other cars.

Defiant- I always get a bad feeling when I look at silicone hose return lines, are you saying these are reliable? I've been considering getting one of those for the future turbo setup, but something just tells me I will be waving the motor good bye if I do so...

Silicone is the only way to go for hot oil. The turbo oil return line on my father's Freightliner with a Cat Diesel consists of about 12" of 3/4" silicone hose between the two flanges.....just plain, ordinary silicone hose available at any parts store.

Do NOT use regular heater hose!

It was stock on my '84 Datsun 200SX Turbo, and never gave a hint of trouble. A really rude shade of pink, but well out of sight.
I can't figure Mits' selection of a piece of toilet tank feed tubing. I guess they shop Home Depot, too.

I am using a rubber line I found at Menards. It's been working great for a very long time.
