AEM AEM EMS 1g Wiring Harness

Does anyone know what color wires on the sensors go to what color wires on the stock harness for the AEM EMS with speed density and boost control.

I found the pin out but I don't want to have to ring each wire if someone has already done it.

I want to hook everything up under the hood and not have to run wires though the fire wall if there is already stock ones ran.

I havea a partial pinout list taht i was putting together for my own files, but i dont have every wire pin out listed... and you either have to use your MDP sensor wires for your new MAP sensor or run new ones.

I can possibly dig it out and scan in what i've come up with so far. But without a 1g car to work with i won't know some things for certain. The 1g's i've done have pulled teh stock harness out completely and replaced it just to avoid melted/broken wires in teh stock loom from haunting us.
 
I can ring each wire and see where it goes. I just don't see a point in running all new wires if the ones that are there are in good shape.

I will see what i come up with.
 
It's been a few years since I did mine, but I'm almost positive I used the VFAQ, and the EMS wiring diagram.

You need 5v, ground, and signal for the map sensor, two of which (5v and ground) are on the maf sensor harness, the other(signal) is the "timing adjustment" harness located on the firewall. You need the two wires for AIT, also on the maf harness. Boost control just uses the factory BCS wiring. That's why they call it plug and play, you really shouldn't have to run any wires unless you want to do some custom stuff.

That is what i am after for the most part i even want to wire in the wide band controller to the stock plug under the hood.

I will have to just ring wires and see what i find off the maf plug.
 
You don't need to use a multimeter at all. Look at the VFAQ under MAF upgrades, and all of the wiring pinouts and colors are right there. You don't need to connect the wideband under the hood, you can just remove the pin at the ecu connector for the O2 sensor and use one of the many spare pins to connect the wideband output wire, to the ecu. No cutting wires, no running additional wires, it's very simple and it gives a cleaner install.
 
Yea, Vfaq is what i used to print the pinout and what i have done is labeled the pin numbers for wiring basically any stand alone. it's just labeled as far as what ignition leads are trigger wires and things like that. Let me know if you want me to post what i have so far, it may help
 
I just did the install veryyyyy easy. Here you go:thumb:

MAP Sensor Wring
5V Power- Get this from the MAS connector. You want the Green/Red wire located at pin number 4

Sensor Ground- Get this also from the MAS connector. You want the Green/Black wire at pin number 6. When connecting to it, make it a double splice. You will also need sensor ground for the AIT sensor.

MAP Signal- The EMS for the 1G Eclipse it set up to use the stock ignition check connector wire for the MAP signal input. This is on the firewall, next to the windshield wiper motor. It is in an oval connector sized for two pins, but there is only one pin in the connector, it has a Yellow/Red wire.

Air Intake Sensor Wiring
The AIT needs to be installed n the intercooler piping, after the intercooler. Somewhere in the upper intercooler piping is fine. We stock weld in bungs in both steel and aluminum. The thread on the GM style AIT sensors is 3/8" NPT.

There are two wires on the AIT, polarity does not matter. One is the signal wi re to the ECU. Connect it to the Green/Orange wire at the MAS connector pin number 8.

The second connector is to be connected to sensor ground at the MAS connector. You want the same Green/Black wire at pin number 6 that you used for the MAP sensor.
 
Thank you very much can i take the old o2 sensor and cut off the sensor and wire in the wide band under the hood or should i just run that part under the hood.


I know i can get 12v and ground under the hood
 
Wouldn't it just be easier to use the MAF signal at the MAF plug for the MAP sensor then cut it at the ECU and switch MAF with Ignition Timing at the ECU?

I dont think you can get any easier then those directions, it wired up it 5 minutes. unless you taking about the wideband hook up, which i didnt wire up yet

That is what i was going to do but i was going to have to ring each wire to find out which one was which.


But what i was thinking about for the wide band is taking my old O2 cut the wires after the plug and wire in the single wires from my aem box there.

the less i have to run though the fire wall the better.
 
the yellow wire on the fire wall can i just cut off the connector for it or does that have a jump pin in it that is needed.


It looks like to me i can just cut it off.
 
An important one not to cut is the black and black with blue stripe connector for the ignition. I cut that off along with the resistor pack and a bunch of other stuff one night and had a hell of a time getting the car to hit on all 4 again. At least until i found the plug with 2 wires to it and re-connected them.

I"m not sure this applies so much on the 1g, but i would imagine that it would.. That brings me to one of the things i don't like about plug-n-tug ECU's; the fact that you can't just start getting rid of things like the resistor pack and some of the other things that become useless on a "race car" but are still needed because of the way the wires are run on the stock harness. At least you're going Speed density :thumb:
 
It does not look like there is anything in the plug it looks like an option or something that they were going to use the wire for maybe a tech tool or something


Do you know what are the signal wires for the O2 under the hook so i can wire them into the wide bad and then only run the power wires though the firewall.

With the AEM, Plug and Play only means that the factory harness connectors plug in. You can still wire it up any way that you want. I made some significant changes from how the factory does power distribution, but for the most part they got it right.
 
Ok i got the car running but i have a problem.

I have the car running but not very well because my EMS does not want to read the 30-2301 UEGO.

I can read 4.0v on pin #4 with the O2 unplugged under the hood i have the UEGO hooked up with the orange wire.

under the sensor cal i have Internal UEGO select but i have tried all three different AEM wide bands to get the ECU to read the sensor.

I have gone under the Cal to try and adjust the Voltage but the ECU keeps seeing no voltage.

What am i missing?Huh
