i just got a turbosmart oil catch can, but ive run into a simple problem that i over looked! I cant seem to find a good place to mount the can! So i was wondering where turboed 2gnt's are mounting there catch cans? another reason i wanted to ask is because im not sure if an oil catch can will work if its not straight up and down, or if it has to be lower then the valve cover. any help is greatly appreciated!

Hmm... tricky, your engine bay is pretty crowded. What about to the right (drivers side) of your radiator, where the plumbing for your intercooler goes? Is there anywhere you can make a bracket and mount it there?

thought about that. only problem is, i already custom made a braket to hold my fuel presure regulator there! the only way i could get it to fit anywere over there would be to relocate my fuse box! here is the pic of the fpr.

I mounted mine the other day right next to the ECU/PCM mounting bracket.

Top left corner of your bay, near where some people mount their FMU's.
Bottom left tucked near the power steering resevoir (looks even better when the AC s**t is pulled out).

I'm mounting mine where my overflow resevoir is.

The 2gnt it's located in the engine bay mounted to the back of the firewall. The 2G turbo models have them in the trunk.

You can relocate the battery to the trunk if you need to free up some space to mount the oil catch can.

i think im either gona go with mounting it were the overflow resevoir is, or i might relocate the batery and mount it there. 1 question, if i were to mount it were the overflow is, whats the best way to rought the tubing to get to it?

Here's a couple pic's where i mounted mine, passenger side. Just in front of the resevoir and power steering area.

i like the way yours is set up? anyone else have any pics? what is that second tube for? mine only has the one that comes from the valve cover to the catch can?

Closes just fine, believe it or not there is a gap between the hood and catch can.

I've actually got mine, mounted under the frame under the passenger side headlight. (the space infront of the wheel well on the passenger front tire) With the drain screw at the bottom, it makes oil changes a snap.

wow i just thought of that, i dont even know how to drain mine. i got a turbo xs catch can, o well im sure its not hard

Good point, I didn't even think about that when mounting it...but then again, mine is still empty...how often do you have to drain it...a better question might be how much crankcase pressure are you pushing to get that much oil over to it...?

i think your suposed to check or drain it every 3 to 4 months. but i guess it verys on how big the catch can is and how much preasure your pushing.

Mine is mounted under the overflow, and I made a monting bracket that is attached with a bolt from the BCS. Easy to drain.

Here's mine on the 1g. It's not nearly as big as some of the others posted.....made it that way on purpose!
