i have a riced 96 420a i paid 1,500 for and a 91 gsx i paid 400 for. i was going to pull the turbo shit out the gsx for the 96, but the car in and out is in great shape, well worth over 400, but the tranny is shot and auto, i want the stick. it also only has 85,000 miles on it what the hell do i do? i really want to keep both of them as a little collection. if it was not a gsx it would be gone already. does anyone have any ideas other than keep them both?

Sell the 2g, and use that money for a new 5 speed tranny, and some other mods.

A non turbo 96 will not be capable of putting a 1g turbo or 2g turbo motor in for that matter. Its too much work to be worth it.

Sell 2g rice build 1g.

:beatentodeath: i cant figure out what to do, im not sellin the ricer, im stuck with it, and its in great shape, runs perfect, the 1g might be in a little ruffer shape than i thought the rear end is rusted good its been sitting. i got a couple mechanic buddies comin over for a pool party so were gonna look it over and see what type of investment it'll need. i dont have much room, time or ends, so the gsx part out might happen. and as far as motors go ive been reading up alot through this site and ive read some peoples opinion that the 420a can reach the same hp and its cheaper, and the 4g has issues over 300hp with the balancing rods (crank walk) i dont know? if it works out ill have both, anyone know how much the a/t tranny rebuild will cost?,:confused::confused:

I would keep the both a them and fix the 1g. Use the rice machine as a daily driver, who cares if the thing looks like ass. You know at home you got a turbocharged beast waiting to be unleashed.

you have several options:

1) find a 1g AWD Manual car in your local junkyard and take everything required for the swap, and if available, grab the tranny while you are there, itll run ~600$ maybe depending on how anal your local Pick n Pull us (ours is dependent on which cashier you get).

2) find a total'd 1g awd manual or someone that has one that needs a new motor. you can probably find one that just needs a new motor for a good price, and take your good motor and drop it in the other car and drive away. probably find a better car with no rust, better body, etc.

3) save up for a couple months, sell both cars and get a nice 2g for around 4k. There are lots of decent 2g GST's in my area for just that, and if you look hard enough you can find a AWD 2g for that price as well. or do the same as above and get a nice 1g awd, though i dunno if id trust a 1g for a DD, its just too damn old to be relied upon IMO.
