Got revenge on the oil companies!

Ok, so... after work, I headed to the Mobil in Westmont to get some gas. I wanted to get it tonight because I heard it was supposed to shoot up on Thursday. Anyway, I pull in and my buddy J is with me in his MR2 turbo. I prepay with $40 cash, he buys smokes, then we walk out together.

I start to put the nozzle in, and I said out loud "hey, 3.38... not bad."

J says, "What?!?! $THREE 38?

I reply, "Whoa!

?!?!"

Pause for a second: Regular in Chicagoland is no less than 4.09 right now. Even the signs at this Mobil said $4.38 for premium.

Holy hell... the pumps were mis-priced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The $40 I prepaid filled my entire tank!!!!!!!!! Last time I filled up a week-an-half ago, it was $53 for me to fill up around $4.20!!!!

We didn't say a word, I went home, asked my mom if she needed gas... which she did. I told her, and she threw her debit card at me and yelled, "Go, boy! Before they find out!"

I jumped in the Bimmer and hauled major ass back there and filled her up, too!

Hahahahahaha! It felt so good to stick to them!!!! So if anyone is in the DuPage area, take advantage of this NOW!!!! I can't promise they haven't figured it out by now, but, hey... it's worth a shot!!!!!

Some local people did this here in colorado, they were charged for what they got the deal on, and i believe were also ticketed.

Can they legally do that since it was someone elses fault for mispricing the gas? I understand If you come back with like 4 cars and 50 friends but if it's a one or two time deal it's the owner's fault.

Well I imagine most all gas stations have cameras I just think it's wrong to ticket a person and charge them for getting cheap gas cause someone else is an idiot.

Well said. It's still hard for me to stomach the thought that $3.38 is cheap for a gallon of gas. :barf:

F' that, I would've come back with every car i could get a hold of, there is no way they could get you in trouble for paying what the pump says. It's not like you stole it. Their fault, nobody else's.

Hey was that $3.38 a gallon, I'm asking because i live in england and its £1.18 which is $2.33 but heres the thing its £1.18 a litre so is around £5.00 a gallon that makes it $10.00 a gallon OMG

How can you get ticketed for paying the price somebody is charging? If it says 2.00 on the pump and I pay 2.00, that's legal!

And if you find a deal like that, pay cash and cover your lisence plate!

Last year at one of the gas stations in town premium was priced below $1/gal for about a week before they found out. We also have a church around my area that pays the gas station to lower their price by a dollar for a day to help people out, they will also pay for your gas if you cant. No they cant charge you for someone else's mistake thats just stupid to think that.

There have been a few times here where gas has been priced .38 a gallon. Yes, 38 CENTS. Almost everytime the owner finds out, and usually honors the price for a certain period of time. Good buisness ethics if you ask me.

Too bad you didnt stick it to the gas companies but the owner of the gas station, who makes approx 2 cents per gallon on that gas sold.

Good job. Whoever owns the station is going to be hurting, not the multi-billion a quarter profit oil tycoons.
