Ok, this is going to be a lost post so please bear with me. So I'm installing my new AEM wideband and afc neo. Among all this I find that my alternator fuse is blown. I go get a new one put it in and my car won't start, dead battery from it running off just the battery for so long, I'm not sure how long my alt. fuse was blown, anyway. So my dad gets his car, he hooks the cables up, i start it hear a click and everything turns off. I try again and get nothing. So i check the cables and what do i come to notice. My father hooked the cables to my battery correctly, but on his car he had the negative going to the positive and vice-versa. So i def think there was a good "burnout" of wires and a bunch of other things electrical there. :notgood:

So after about of week of looking, searching, trying, we finally get it running (found out it had burned my turbo timer wires and they were causing the short. So got that taken out and now the car starts, but runs like complete crap.
My a/f is always sitting at 10.0.
My tps which i replaced AFTER the "burnout" still reads at 99.6% on my logger no matter the pedal position.
I also replaced the MAF after the "burnout" too, but my logger is still picking up the MAFS code.
I am getting codes for MAFS, Air Temp Sensor, Barometer Sensor, Coolant Temp Sensor, & TPS from my logger (palm w/mmcd).
A good amount of smoke is coming from the exhaust if i try to rev it up.

Weird thing is that weather i have the MAF connected or not the car runs the same. I am honestly out of options, and out of my own opinions on what else is wrong. the only thing i can think of is that the ECU got fried when it was jumped incorrectly. Any help here is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Ok, to add, just got back from reading up and doing all the checks on my MAF and TPS as described in the haynes manual. Everything for those 2 parts checks out ok. So now i am completely lost and have no clue what is wrong :confused::confused:

Did you happen to replace your battery after that? Same thing happened to my lawn mower and after that the battery acid stated eating it's way through the terminals, not going to cause the problem but I don't want the battery to blow up on you. I would borrow someone else's ECU and try that out in the car and see if the ECU could have been fried, open it up and see if there's any noticable damage, leaking caps, etc. Also when you installed your wideband you did free-air calibrate it? Did you hook your wideband up to your ECU to log it? If not then I don't see how your wideband is only reading a/f's of constant 10.0 unless your car is running straight 10.0 or you didn't calibrate it right. I don't know if the AEM is the same way as my LC-1, but we ended up pulling the car out of the shop to calibrate it outside in the free-air so there were no fumes in the air. I would borrow someone's ECU and try that route, sounds like you may have shorted it out. If that's not the problem let us know and we'll see if we can point you in another direction. Good luck bro

it reads correctly, just its really running that rich all the time. Yes i also replaced the battery. Only problem is i don't really know anyone else in the area with an ecu i could borrow. Bruce (oldman) is near me but he has been mia for i don't know how long now LOL. Well when i get time (busy almost all of mem. day weekend) i will be pulling the ecu out and i will let you know, thanks for the help.

does the idle jump up and down?
Pull out your ecu and look at the caps on the circuit board. Its a pretty good possibility that the ecu got fried. When mine was fubared it was throwing some really crazy readings for some of my sensors.

kyleh - when i turn the car on the idle is normal for about 30 seconds, then it does start to get a little jumpy but nothing crazy.

Ok well i took the ecu out, crazy thing is that it looks fine... to me. I don't exactly know what to look for, here are some pics. Feedback from others who know about these things would be great, thanks.

(they are a little big but i wanted to try to get as much detail as possible)
