Alright, I know theres a few people on here following my car and it's times. Last night I finally hit my "goal" for this turbo.

Ran two 11.92x's at 115mph last night. Best run was 11.922 @ 115.78 (timeslip). Pulled a best 60 footer of 1.69 on junk tires , and trapped 116.56mph on a run also. Mods are in profile. Straight 93 octane, and a so / so tune. There is some more in it for sure, and I do STILL have to install my FP Race Manifold and BC 272 cams... If I run the 16g again at the track... we'll see, but for now I hit this turbo's goal, and would like to see where the FP Green takes me.

pumpgas FTW!

Those are awesome times man. I hope I can run low 12s with my 20g this year. How many psi were those runs.

Nice times for sure. Hitting 11's is big in my book. Any interest in selling the 16g now, or you gonna keep it anyways?

Thanks everyone. Weight taken out, just a LOT of small stuff, but if you look at the car from outside or anywhere, you could never guess it was as light as it is. Gutted hood, no sound deadening, all usesless brackets are gone, bumper supports, heatshields, etc....I actually did have about 50lbs of tools in teh trunk though:coy:

For the Green, I'd like to see 120+ mph on pump gas as my "goal" for that, And I wouldn't really want to sell the 16g, it sounds like it may be on it's way out.

This was a goal, but only one of many :) Did feel good to hit it though.

Congratulations man. I am in awe as we have similar setups and even dyno about the same horsepower but your car traps so much higher than mine. I need to loose some weight I think this beer belly is killing my E.T.s.

Well my dyno graph is from last year. I suspect the car to be putting down around 340-350whp now. The less weight does help, so does driving it like you stole it! My car did trap 110mph all day right once it put down the 300 whp though.

Thanks,
-Ryan

Congrats again, man! Your car is a freak LOL I guess you're an alright driver :p

I'm really impressed the 3" helped so much over the 2.5. Looking forward to what you can muster from the green :thumb:

You really got to come out to NOPI at NEDragway in August. Its going to be an awesome time. I will have my car ready to go for it, and the RWD 9 sec DSM should be there as well. I cant think of his name right now, but its the old Buschur car. I cant wait to meet him as well.

Once again congrats Ryan, im going to have to step it up now
since you have my cars exact race gas time & mph but on pump gas. :sneaky:
Gone and get those other parts on there and log your gains and take it back to the track.
I dont know if the Fp mani will better your time, but the cams sure will after you retune it.
The Fp mani will make it a little nicer on the street though.
I havent tracked mines yet since i installed my bc272s or fp mani but when I do I'll let
you know the difference vs my old times.

Nope. A true CAI and the ETS 4" thick core help a good amount with IAT's... but no form of injection. Maybe in the future, but not anytime soon for me.

The CAI's do really work. Ive logged up to 40 deg temp drops over average.
You guys should start looking into doing all the little stuff like this and not just focusing on all the bigger overall parts . Things like this can be crucial in helping a little turbo squeeze every last bit of airflow it can thru that compressor.

^^ Yea but your a 2g, everyone knows 2gs are fat :tease:

Your talking about Kevin Jewer's RWD power gliding Talon I believe. Sick car.

Ryan, did you get a chance to throw this up on NEDSM?

EXACTLY! The little things make the biggest diferences, IMO. I try to maximize every part I have before putting on bigger and badder parts. Just bolting on parts can make you run fast, but IMO all the little stuff that helps makes the biggest diference to make the bigger parts work better. Kinda fun making a 16g run quicker than the big turbo boys:)

Naw, I only listed the time in the 1/4 mile thread, that's all.

I'd like to try to make it to a NOPI event, we'll see.

Thanks everyone, I like seeing the support from everyone:dsm::talon::laser:

I think the coolest part of this is, I drove the car straight from work, to my friends house, loaded 3 friends up in the car(not fun LOL) and drove to the track with NO changes, other than taking off my front plate to let a little more air to go to my K and N :p

Extracting more from your current turbo to me is more satisfying than just tossing money at a big turbo just to run a 12.XX or 11.xx . In example to what im saying, going mid 11s on a 16g before kicking to the 50trim trend means so much more than those who just run an under achieving mid/high 12 on the 16g and are too lazy or not patient enough to hold off and push their setup further before slapping on the bigger turbo...
Hell my car was going low 12s on a 14b, and I know a few others who have also.
And I also know dozens of dsm'ers who come off of 16gs and dont get near the high 11s until they jump to a big turbo, when in actuality the 16g is probably a MUCH funner turbo at say 11.9 than a 50 trim is.
In addition to that, I've beat a few dsms with bigger turbos; one being with much more expensive parts than mines has. Better to maximize a setup while its still a lesser setup imo, and the cars who are maxing out a given setup, or at least even just going faster than the average but with lesser parts will respond even better when they DO put the "bigger badder parts" And soon Ryans car will be a perfect example of this ;)
