I have clear tail lights for my Talon but I think the filler pannel looks better solid black (color of my car) just my $1.00 - $0.98

Hi,
and thanks for the answer.
But unfortunately I meant the All clear tail lights, the ones which are hard to find...
I need the center!

I can tell you that if you have 100% fully clear tail lights and filler pannel with red LED's you will end up getting a ticket. It is unlawful to have clear tail lights with no red reflectors in all 50 states.

check ebay or your local junkyards. I was able to find a set at my junkyard once, sold them on ebay for about $300. I know you can't buy them like that, but you can take your stock center piece, bake it in the oven, seperate it and take out the red plastic. Therefore leaving you with just the clear center. Heat the 2 pieces back up in the over, take them out, stick together and there you go.

I don't have pics of them anymore that was about 3 years ago i found them.

I looked up the laws on this. By what I've seen, the states require 2 red reflectors of a X size to be visible from X distance.

When you put after market lights on a car, they have to meet requirements set by DOT or SAE. In states like California, they require them to be stamped. If they do not have reflectors, they have to be installed.

That said, the laws may be applicable only to custom built cars and motorcycles. You would have to look up local laws and speak with them about it, to see what is required on a car, and actually See the written law. Sometimes what is written and what is understood is very different.

Good luck. These lights are hard enough to find in a set, let alone piece-by-piece.

Really? I've been running these on my 2G daily driver since 2003 and I've NEVER been pulled over based on my tail lights.

though i like how "based on your tail lights" you've never been pulled over...
Pulled over once because a local cop wanted to jack me off about something....I think he was looking for a seatbelt violation either on me or my passenger.

The second time I've ever been pulled over was by another local cop in the same part of town (you can't fart sideways in Southwest Greensburg) who actually thought I was someone else who had been driving a green 2G that was out of inspection.

No speeding tickets or accidents in 12 years of driving :knocks on wood:.
