That looks a little like Talladega Motor Park. Should be a fun track to drive. You know any of the Group 4 drivers there talonTSIdriver? Keep us posted on whats going with the event and afterwards man. Good luck.

This is what Talladega Gran Prix looks like. Same basic shape between the 2 circuits.

I gotcha man. I misread what you wrote there. Group 4 seems to b the group to be in then eh? Open track right now for them. But I'm sure they wouldn't just give 1 guy the track. But maybe they will who knows.

If all goes well I plan on attending this event. Right now I am in the midst of a 6 bolt swap, but hopefully will have it all together and broke in before then. I've got a long ways to go.

Blackhawk Farms is an excellent track, and they are in the midst of making quite a few changes around there over the winter and spring time. You can see pictures on their web site. Alot of attention has been given to safety imppovements there over the past couple years.

Having been a member for several years and a class champion last season with Midwestern Council I can highly recommend the events they put on. The open track day will provide just about as much track time as you can handle. I will be running in group 3 as well. Will anyone be sticking around to run the high speed autocross day as well that weekend? You will not get nearly as much track time, but the competition for best lap times is great fun.

I'm looking forward to getting back on track after a boring winter. Seeing a few DSM'ers there will be great.

gsxracer - Hope you get the 6 bolt done in time for the event. Always good to see more than 1 DSM at the track. Good luck to everyone that will be going and keep us posted :thumb:

I should be there for the High speed auto-x as well. Hope to see ya there.

I might have met you last year when I had my silver talon.

NASA doesn't run at Blackhawk this year and there is a gap in my schedule that this might fit. Will they have an entry list for Group 4?

When you register on myautoevents, you choose what group you will run in. So far i dont see anyone that has registered in group 4.

If you have any questions, email Erik: [email protected]

Edit: There is one person that pre-registed in group 4.

I'm penciled in to ride out there to spectate.

I'm signed up and ready to go. I'll see you there. BHFs is an excellent track because its balanced between horsepower and handling. Unlike Road America where horsepower is king.

All groups will fill up before the actual date as this event provides more track time than most are willing to put their car through! Last year the last two sessions had less than 4 cars in them. It was basically open lapping.

As always, I look forward to chasing down your evo Jeff!!

Oh..... you plan on giving me a head start then.... excellent.

Do you plan to have video in your car? I'm thinking about mounting a chase cam pointing out the back.

Thank you for reminding me of that! My new harness bar should be put to multiple uses. The more I think about it, the more I see myself doing some more mods before this event.:shhh::shhh:

I'd like to start attending some of the local events like, Miller park and Blackhawk. I don't know how well my car is setup for high speed. Probably start melting some stuff. I definitively need some advice. Are there limits to the amount of modifications a car can have? Will they have problems with atmospheric dump O2 sensor housing? I finally got the Talon back up and screaming again and I'm more than itching. I also want to do local autocross parking lot events. Any info or advice would be appreciated.:talon:

Well, your car basically has to be safe and meet a few requirnments. your external wastegate dump is fine, in fast i ran one at last years BHF lapping day.

I'm going to make an effort to get into as many events as possible this year. I'm thinking of doing the rally event as well at the farmer's field. I went thru the self tech sheet and it looks like I'm good to go. the only thing i need to do is permanently bolt down my rear relocated battery. Those heavy duty zip ties and bungee cords are going to have to be retired.

at BHF they may want to see that battery in some sort of enclosure if mounted remotely. If you don’t have one, go pickup a cheap marine battery box and use that. I asked them last year if that would be ok and they said yes.
