Are you thinking about a fuel cell in the trunk? Not sure what you mean with the oil sump(?)

are you running a dry sump oiling system? if this is not a full blown race car it is useless. as far as the fuel cell most places require you to have a fire barrier if you want to race it. you can't have fuel in the passenger compartment.

I don't know of any regulations that dictate where exactly you have to put your dry-sump oil container when in the rear. If you can mount your fuel cell where the stock fuel tank is you should be okay. If you want to mount it in the rear interior of the car, regs state you need a metal barrier or bulkhead between you and the cell...too expensive in weight for most racers.

It'd be easier to leave the sump on the block, and mount the engine and driveline in place of the rear wheels.

Ok I'll Go into a little more detail for you guys. I want to put a 1/4 Inch skid plate on the bottom of my car and I heard that you have to move something from the oil tank and the gas tank. And yes I do plan on making this a full blown race\rally car in a year or two when I buy my new car. So I'm just preparing now

I don't know where you would look but back in the early 90s when they were rally&road racing them someone must of made a dry sump system.

Agreed...I have seen this attempted first-hand and it has never been successful in the long-term, If you are serious about rallying a DSM, the 1G is the preferred choice.
