ok so 1st is sometimes hard to get in and will sometimes grind a little.. now 2nd will go in if im easy but it doesn't just slip in, it takes a lil effort.. but when im high up in the rpms and i try to slam it into 2nd it just stops and wont go in.. WTF? i tried the linkage adjustment at the shifter off VFAQ but they were already adjusted.. it used to do this but it is much worse ever since i got a new clutch put in at a shop.. what could the problem be?

How are the master and slave cylinders? Try rebuilding both cylinders. Check the fluid in the transmission, you could also try out the extended slave rod. Hope this helps you out!

It sounds to me like your clutch is dragging. Try this but be careful:

1) Have the car running with the e-brake off so it can roll.
2) Push the clutch pedal all the way to the floor and hold it there.
3) Turn off your launch limiter in DSM link so the engine can hit 7K RPM.
4) Put the car into 1st gear.
5) Rev the engine up until you feel the car start to move forward.

If the car moves forward below 7200RPM, your clutch is dragging. DO NOT DRIVE UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS FIXED! Unit will also be hard to shift, so DON'T DRIVE OR FORCE IT INTO GEAR OR YOU WILL RUIN YOUR SYNCHROS!

ok ill try that.. but i dont know about the dsmlink thing cause i dont have one and i can hit the 7800 rev limiter.. so yeah...

You have my friend what is commonly known as shifter block. Several methods which never completely repaired the problem are. GM synchromesh fluid. Get the shift enhancer which is a little bottle which may or may not still be available from GM. You can change the synchros probably to no avail. Never worked for me anyway. I personally use Mobil 1 full synthetic engine oil. 15w40. I can't recommend it to you for obvious reasons, but I have used it in mine for over 3 years with absolutely no problems. If you do choose to use it, you do so at your own risk. "disclaimer" Because it's not really a trans fluid, that's why I can't "profesionally" recommend it. They also make those little bearings which you can put in your cables on the trans side to remove the slop. We had a lot of problems with this very thing a long time ago. Sigh, "the good old days" Try the synchromesh first. See what that does. You can always try the other stuff later.

Good Luck

Yes, that's your problem. Proper clutch adjustment can require several steps. I have a long video of how to do it here:

Transmission Videos

Or you can do a search and several others have posts about doing the adjustment their own way also.
