Just wondering if anyone has some specs on which is better.
I'm leaning more towards the MR because its stainless steel and if I had to do any porting it would be minimal to mild as opposed to porting the crap out of an Evo III.

I know the MR is 2.5" turbo outlet and 1.75" wastegate outlet. But any specs on an EVO III(unported+Ported)?

Otherwise just let me know your opinions. Owners chime in.

Well, I have been running the MR housing for 4-5 months now daily. It has held up beautifully! Before that, I had an XSPower o2 dumps which was nice as well. The only reason I changed was because the dump tube was hitting my LICP and causing boost leaks. (My alt. didn't like it either)

I took measurements before I installed my own unported Evo III O2 housing, but can't remember for the life of me where I recorded them. Sorry. I do specifically remember that the WG passage was signigicantly smaller than my unported 2G housing, while the turbine passage was (conversely) significantly larger than my unported 2G housing. I am still curious as to why the flapper passage was so small (or maybe it's the case that the 2G housing was disproportionately too large (remember, the 2G housing matches up to the T25)). I don't know why the 2G housing port for the WG flapper is so huge, especially for the T25.

Took these measurments from an unported Evo III O2 housing.

  • Evo III O2 housing outlet (where the DP bolts up): 2.25 inches not including the smaller step. Incuding the inner step, the inside diameter is roughly 2.031 inches.

  • Evo III O2 housing large inlet (where the majority of exhaust gases pass through): roughly 2.281 inches.

  • Evo III O2 housing wastegate passage (remember, this passage is not perfectly circular): 1.531 x 1.593 inches.

Is the stud spacing on the EVO III where the DP mounts up any wider than the stock 2G? I'm having issues mounting my 3" dp to the stock o2 housing. Any help on this would be great.

I just looked at both my 2G and Evo III O2 housing (both unported). There is a difference regarding the studs between the two. The difference is 10mm, or 1cm. That is a significant difference.

For the 2G, I measured at the very outer edge of both studs at about 10.5cm. For the Evo III, I measured at the very outer edge of both studs at just under 11.5cm.

Thanks! I just bought a Megan Racing 3" dp and it doesn't mount up to the stock o2 housing very well. The corners of the bolts rub on the pipe with every turn and I've got a slight leak between the two flanges because I can't tighten the bolts very well.

Well, you can always do something similar here and port the DP holes.

I'm running a ported Evo3 and it works mint!
