Ok, so I'm getting the SSAC FMIC and i was wondering what the best way to modify my turbo housing is. I have a T28 and I didn't know if I should cut it off flat and put a bead around the lip or cut it at a 45* and rotate, and weld the elbow to point straight down. Also what do I use to cut it, I don't want to pull out a hacksaw and start hacking away at it (if that's not what I'm supposed to do)

Well I bought the ssac fmic kit with my t25, and instead of modding the turbo I just bought some couplers to make it mate up with my piping. I took the 90 degree elbow off the turbo and just got another 90 degree elbow to run the the other pipe on the intake side of the intercooler. Been running this now for about 5k miles and still run awesome!! Hope this helps but my explanation was not very good.:dsm:

OK, I don't have the FMIC kit yet (waiting on my paycheck to make sure that I have enough left over) But I'm guessing by what you're saying, you can extend the lower intercooler pipe to fit a 90* coupler coming off of the elbow. If you could get a picture I'd greatly appreciate it.

Alright I probably wont be able to get an actual picture because well I live in Ohio and its snowing pretty hard out here but I will draw one up in paint to better explain myself.

OK, I feel you on that one. I'm in Co and its not snowing, but I wouldn't want to be outside for more than 5 minutes. I was also weighing buying a 180* pipe and use it in place of the one that comes with it.

If you read the giant eBay thread in the bolt-on section, many have adapted to use the t25/t28 turbo with the SSAC kit. Just by memory, I could imagine NOT using the 90* bend that is included and using a "J" pipe instead. This way it has the 180* turn needed to face the piping in the right direction and the leg of the "J" should be long enough to connect to the kit piping. JEGS.com usually carries that stuff (or our vendors).

OMFG you guys rock, I normally try to search, but I never have any luck (well maybe a 2/25) Are the couplers/t-bolt clamps any good, or should I order some high quality ones?

Thanks much.

When I first installed mine I had a few that popped off. I just didn't have the clamps tight enough I guess (got in a big hurry to try it out you know) but when they were all tightened down they seem to hold up just fine. 5k miles later still in good shape and I have no complaints. It does come with I think 1 missing coupler and 2 missing t-bolts if I am not mistaken!! Well worth the price though if you ask me.
