EDIT! -- The Meet will be on Sunday, January the 13th! -- January 14th was a TYPO!

Here is the plan.
After concluding the year of 2007 with our last DSM meet here in November, I thought I would start the year off on a good start with a DSM meet a couple weeks after New Years. This allows most of us plenty of time to get our parts installed Santa decided to bring us this year, and show the goodies to the locals:cool:

November 11ths Meet was pretty cool, but we've decided to make it a little better this time, and more thought out, allowing for more people to plan ahead and make it. SO, heres the plan:

We all meet up around 12pm at the Alderwood Mall near Lynnwood, at the JC Penny parking garage, 2nd to last level from the top.
The idea of the parking garage meet, is if it's raining/snowing it allows for plenty Space, BSing, and Picture taking, no matter how bad the weather turns out.

At 1:00PM we will cruise on over to the Red Robin near by for a bite to each and chat some more. (This has been changed to 1:00pm, due to the level of attention we will be getting with mall security.)
The Buffet was nice, but we were pretty scattered on the floor in small groups not really giving everyone a chance to meet everyone a little better.
Once everyone has aten, we have a couple of options:

*Pre-Cruise -- Fill up the tanks at the local gas station nearby!*

1. If the weather seems to be not in the best of shape and its too wet and nasty to cruise, we can call it a day and desperse from Red Robin.

~OR~

2. We can go for a nice cruise and make a nice loop around western washington.
The start of the cruise would be from Red Robin, jump onto I-5 and head south.
Follow I-5 down to southcenter and merge onto I-405 North.

From I-405 North, we have a nice drop off destination.

For the North/East guys they can continue to cruise up I-405 North on the eastside, allowing for the people on the western side of Lake Washington to take I-90 West/East and either head to seattle or over snoqualmie pass. For the Bellevue area people they can just follow on up I-405 North and merge to 520 floating bridge.

For the South guys we can have them desperse in Southcenter when the North guys merge to I-405 North, over to HWY 167 South.

Olympia and Portland people can continue I-5 all the way down breaking off in southcenter.

This will be a good cruise and pretty central for everyone, and easy to get home.
I can lead the way for everyone if needed, but it is a pretty simple cruise on the main HWY/Interstates.
If there are questions about the cruise or where you would need to desperse at, just ask me sometime during the meet.

*OPTIONAL FOR ALL*
Most of us guys are going to be meeting up in a nearby Renton parking garage after the cruise. Jack has the spot picked out and he will be leading us to it when we get in the area. This allows for everyone to talk to one another about everything that went down on the cruise and take additional pictures.
We will all seperate from there about 30 minutes after the regroup to continue home.
I got an awsome garage picked out for us to go to in Renton. It's huge there's plenty of space for everyone we'll probably have more than 2 whole floors to ourselves. Make sure to bring your cameras everyone, there's killer scenery off the top deck if it isn't raining to take pictures of the whips and if it's around 8 or so the moon is huge and sits just low enough to get in the picture with the car.

If there are any questions please feel free to PM me.

Things Needed:
*Bring Video Cameras, Cameras, extra batteries! -- We need lots of pictures to let all the local people who havn't made it out yet to see what has been going on, and also allowing us to have multiple pictures of everyones cars including their own.:thumb:

*Tools! You drive a DSM, you should always have something!:beatentodeath:

*A good attitude. Noone is better than anyone, we're all there for a good time, don't act like a Jackazz thinking your cool or better than anyone else!:nono:

Lastly, if you decide to bring someone, or be in someone elses car that is NOT a DSM, make sure they know the rules, and need to be respectful. This is a DSM meet, not a chance for them to showoff or have a chance to proove anything, we DON'T CARE!:boring:

EvoM - has a thread as well to gather any Evos that plan on attending.
Myspace groups - have been notified and possible more should be showing up.
I also have 25+ people that I'm waiting to hear back from to see if they can make it or not.

I was not expecting this meet to grow as big as it has, and it's still getting bigger with more attention. With that in mind I have a small notice for EVERYONE.

NOTICE!
The bigger this thing gets, the more attention we will have, I would not want to get authorities involved because of the size and number of idiots acting like ass-hats. I just want a reminder to everone else, no revving, burning out, launches or ANYTHING of that sort in the parking garages, The cars will be lound enought setting alarms off, I don't want security coming to us and kicking us out for idiots that can't behave themselves.

If you are not sure you can make it DO NOT ask to be added to the list!
Let us know when you know FOR SURE. Otherwise we will not count on you being there.
It gives us a better idea of how many people we should be expecting, and not leaving anyone behind in case of car troubles or lateness!

Hmmm... I'm pretty sure he means the 13th, we'll see. I'd like to add one suggestion. I think it'd be nice to meet back up after the cruise to talk about the events that transpired during the cruise. It doesn't matter to me where.

Also, another thing you should bring if you have one is a 2-way radio. That way we can all be on the same freq. and communicate during the cruise. Me and bunch of buddies did this once when we went to HIN years ago and it made the trip SOOO much better.

...not to mention, I'll probably need a reminder when to exit (that way I don't end up in Tacoma again). LOL

November 11ths Meet was pretty cool, but we've decided to make it a little better this time, and more thought out, allowing for more people to plan ahead and make it.

So the meet i put together wasn't very good or thought out huh?

Well, maybe this one will be better then.... Mine wasn't that bad..... :thumb:

The meet is on a monday?
No, the meet is not on a Monday. I PMed a moderator to change it for me, that was a typo.
You can see what time I was making the thread:rolleyes:

Well those both sound like a good idea.
As far as meeting up after the cruise, that sounds fine. My plan was to just have a nice thread back here with lots of discussion of went on to see what people were missing and make future meets have more turnout.
Renton somewhere, if everyone wants to do this. I will edit my post and add the info on there to where we can all cruise to in renton.
A couple things to think about:
1. If the weather turns shitty on us, on the cruise, there is not very many covered areas in Renton that I know of so we can all get out and chat.
2. I don't know of a place at the moment that has a big parking area, all I can think of is somewhere in the industrial area of Renton.

As far as walkie-talkies go, that sounds awsome!
I'm a poor mofo who owns a DSM and I don't have one so if anyone has one to lend me that would be cool, and I'll just have my girlfriend talking to everyone mainly, about where to go and what not:sneaky:

No, it was horrible.
KIDDING!:D
It was decent, but, we lost everyone on the cruise, and we didn't know we were eating and I didn't have cash on me so my girlfriend paid haha.
A more thought out Meet may lure more folks into showing their faces this time around!:)

I didn't think about that... it is nice for people that weren't able to make it, to read about how much fun we had. Although, I'm willing to bet that even if we meet up afterwards, that there will be a pretty good buzz here on the board about it. :sneaky:

I'm getting pumped just thinking about a better meet then the last one we had.

I'm in for sure. Had a good time meeting everyone last time I figure this time will be better now that I know a bunch of you. And I'll be bringing my lady friend who drives a... well hate to say it '97 Eclipse GS (been trying to get her to sell it for a 4g63 for over a year). I like the sounds of this cruise alot Alderwood to Southcenter alone is a good drive. I think Derick's idea of meeting up somewhere after the cruise would be nice just for some "ya I kicked your ass" bullshittin. I think we should take a break once we reach southcenter then smash off again. :dsm: And lets keep the WRXs :barf: to a minimum though I don't think they'll be around after dude with the Mirage showed um the greatest example of a sleeper DSM ever...

Zak I just read your last post. I live in Renton I know a bunch of parking garages around the area that we can fit at least 30 cars into that are usually empty. And worst case scenario we just extend our drive 10 minutes south on 167 and hit the Kent Station parking garage (huge) which never has ANYONE on the top levels on a Sunday afternoon.

OK, that sounds like a good plan. You can be my wingman on the cruise:D
Once we get to Renton, I will follow you (along with everyone else) over to the nearest parking garage.

Daniel and Carbon, are you guys planning on making it so I can put you two down on the list?
Carbon, I don't think I remember your name, and I've met you twice now LOL.

Cruise information updated.
