I just recently purchased a set of 2 piston calipers for my 90 awd. The problem ive run into is that the calipers cam off of a 3000gt and the stainless brake lines I have are for 95-99 awd. The 3000gt have the screw in style brake lines and the 95-99 awd have the banjo bolt style. I was wondering if anyone makes an adapter or a special banjo bolt so I dont have to get new brake lines or new calipers.

checkout my classified ad. I have the 1g awd ss brakelines you need. pm me if your interested.

Seriously, sell off those brake lines and get a set of 1G AWD SS lines. RRE sells them fairly cheap, and you won't have to try and slapdash stuff together. Which you never want to do with your *brakes*, in the first place.

I have been doin some digging around and what I have found is that the thread size on the thread in brake line is M10x1.0 This same thread size banjo bolt was used on mid 90 corvettes. So what I was thinking was I could get the banjo bolts from a Corvette and use them. Shouldnt be hard to get since I work at a GM dealership. They also use them on STI turbo oil lines. Let me know what you guys think.

We've told you. Sell the lines you have on to a 2Ger (who will be happy to buy them, most likely), buy the PROPER lines, and use the ones designed for your car and the calipers you're using, rather than trusting your life to a slapdash setup. The original brake lines for the 1G are the screw-in type, just like the 3KGT SL. There's zero need to try to force the 2G lines to work.

I'm gonna have to second that. Do it once and do it right. Brakes are nothing to be messing around with. If it was someone that you had to do a one-off fab on, that's different, but if the parts are readily available then why not do it the right way?

Well if I could get someone to do an even up trade for them I would be more than happy!!! But I cant post in the classifieds yet. They are Russell for 95-99 Dsm 2wd and All Wheel Drive with the rears.

You already have an offer earlier in the thread. And 1G SS lines are going to cost a little more (figure about $20-30) as there are 8 lines instead of only 4. Just did mine today, and they make a *nice* difference.. whole lot more pedal feedback, even if a good bit of the sponginess is still there. But you can really FEEL the brakes and tell just where they are... about the difference between a manual steering rack swap, and a power steering setup. Less guesswork to figure out when the car is about to let go.

I dont care for the manual sterring rack!! My 91 has it and its gettin pulled and puttin power steering back in it. To hard to steer for a daily.

Takes some getting used to, sure. And it's not fun while parallel parking, but it sure gives your arms some exercise. Just make sure you have an ACTUAL manual steering rack, and not just a power rack with the lines disconnected. That would be complete hell, rather than just turning like a pig.

The guy I bought the car from said it was manual, but I never looked at it. I ended up trading that car off to my bro for his 90 that he was doin nothin with.

I agree completely, being i am a certified brake technician, i would say that your brakes should be done with 100% effort EVERYTIME. No half-as*d jobs, after all they are the only thing stopping you from a firey death. :thumb:
