my t 25 went bad.... oiil in the o2 housing and smoked and smelt realy bad... smoked out the hole city..

bought a new evo 3 big 16g turbo....

installed it and it came with a fuel rail and a fpr.

started car up and ideled at about 1400 fuel preasure was about 40-45 psi. and ideled high for about 5 min. and then still kept the high idel but alot of smoke came out... i let it idel for about 20 min and it just kept smoking. id give it gas and more smoke came out alot of smoke and it ligered in the air smoke out my hole garage.. im taking alot of smoke.. but for some reason does not smell like burnt oil to me.

new turbo
new fuel rail

i hooked up the fpr on the driver side of the rail. is that right? my preasure is going from 40-45 psi.. and ill try and adjust it and still no control.

how long will it take to burn the oil out the muffer system? i only drove 1/2 mile on the bad turbo.. so how much oil can possible be in it.

please help.

the smoke was kinda witeish and grayish.... did smell kinda sweet...
how do i test for coolant leak and what could it be?

If its any consolation when my old turbo went out I replaced it with a new evo316g and it smoked like crazy for awhile at first untill all the excess oil and junk burned off. I thought the turbo was bad at first but it eventually burned off. Check everything out of course but this may be the case for you too.

To check for a coolant leak you need to pressurize your coolant system. I think you can pick one up at an auto parts store, then you pump up the system and look for leaks. However if the smoke coming from the car is different from when you were leaking oil from the blown turbo I would check to see if you coolant lines are hooked up right on the turbo. I hate to say this but if you're still blowing all this whiteish gray smoke you might have a blown head gasket, but don't take my word for it I'm just thinking out loud.

k, how long should i let it run for? and what do u mean by the coolant lines being ran rong... i thought they could only run one way?

i think its more of a muggy smell.. no to realy sweet but its smookkkkinnn. and it lingers inthe air. does coolant linger in the air?

i dont think its the head gaskit.. cause the car was fine about 3 months ago.. hasnt been driven or started up until maybe 1 week ago and total drive time was probly 5 miles.. i been geting repairs done to the body. paint.. and mods..

i dont no what to do!!!! is there any one in the down river area who has good exp...

I let mine idle and smoke for like 15-20 minutes then said screw it Im driving it, it took a few miles or so but it finally burned off. Make sure you watch your fluid levels in case it is something more.

OMG I'm supprised no one has even suggested it...

White smoke, not really sweet, gets worse when boosting.

Check your system for boost leaks. I'll bet 10:1 that's the problem, I had the same problem when i installed my T28...then i rememberd to hook up the intake/intercooler piping :tease:

Connected them, replaced that little POS BOV with a type-S everything's running great now...except for a little turbo chatter every now and then when i'm at 3PSI

emoguirtarboy!!!

will boost leak cause my car to smoke? cause i didnt hook up the pipe fromt he turbo to the fmic. could that casue smoke?

how can i test for other coolant leaks... do i check in the o2 housing

Yes, if the pipe from the turbo to the FMIC is disconnected that could cause smoking. If you have a boost leak that could cause smoking. Wish i could help with the coolant test never done one.

You can check the O2 housing if you want but as long as the bolts are torqued down and you installed your gaskets when you did it, you shouldn't have a problem :D

thank you all for the tips.... very help full and life savers....
