I was torquing down the cam caps after getting the head rebuilt and one of the cam cap holes is stripped and I can figure out how to fix it, there is a guide for the cam cap that the bolt goes through to aling the caps, how would I go about fixing it?
I bought a Helicoil thread repair kit that I was planning on using unstill I saw the guide there, how do I remove the guide? How would I align the cap if I do remove the guide?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I would retap the hole and not mess with the guide. If you really want to get it done the right way go to a machine shop. I would think they won't charge you more then 20 bucks.

I called the machine shop that did the work and they said to use a helicoil, thats what they use. I have the head installed already and I really dont want to take it off again after spending so many hours just to put it on.

I fixed the threads las night with no problems.
I drilled the hole out with 21/64" bit, tapped the hole with the tap provided with the kit and screwed in the spring looking thingy, put the guide back in and screwed down the cam cap using the same bolt and that was it.
