I have a tial bov and it seems like it is fluddering more than the clean swish sound that it should be making (its there alittle but also fludders alot). I was reading that you could buy diffrent springs based on the vaccum. I am running bc 280 cams and at idle i only have -8 to 10 vacuum. Do i need a different spring, because there is no way of adjusting it like my greddy type s had.

I ran into the same problem after i changed my cams. Before the cams, it blew off very smooth and quickly. Now, it sounds like a turkey..LOL. I have yet to try a new spring. If you try it and it works, let us know.

Do you know what spring you have?
I believe your going to need the 7lb. spring.

is there a standard size spring that they all come with? I havn't touched the spring since i opened it out of the box. I have bc280's so it must be the cams. Anyone else running 280's with a tial??

Use the 7lb spring. Unless you specify most dsm vendors will send the 9lb spring. MOst ebay, local shops and any other place send the 11lb. THe 11lb just does not release fast enough. Especially if you have a small turbo. I have never gone by Tials vacuum thing. The 11lb spring is a throttle body shaft breaker. A tial will hold no matter what. But the idea is to release the air, not hold it as tight as you can.

We run two in the 2G, and both have the 7lb springs and both springs are clipped. They have just over half a coil removed. Who cares if it is open at idle. Just needs to hold boost and release boost. When you are making 45+psi on a GT4202 you have to get the air out some how. So two modifed tials are the way to go.

i havn't begun to look around, however, where would i get a 7lb spring from?

I switched to a 7lb spring and it sounds alot better under lower boost, however under higer boost (20) the Tial still fludders and doesn't give the sweet sound its suppose to. Any other suggestions. Got alot better, but not great yet

You may have to "clip" the spring as mentioned above. If you cut about half a coil off one end it should lower the spring rate., allowing it to open easier when letting off the throttle.

i am willing to give it a little snip, but how exactly would i go about doing that since the spring wraps around at the end to make both ends flat? Has anyone else with 280 cams have this problem?? A pic would be stella, but any advice would do... Thanks!
