I wasn’t able to find an answer to this anywhere. The Infinity 6000cs component system I’m installing in the front has only one input into the crossover. The factory amplifier has 2 outputs, one for the tweeter and one for the woofer.

Could I connect either amp. output to the crossover input or should I run connect both amp. outputs into the crossover input?

The two sets of wires coming from the factory amp are crossed over ( one is for highs and the other for the woofer) so you cant use either to hookup into your crossover. if you only hook one set up to your crossover your not gonna get fullrange sound out of your speakers and if you hookup both sets it may work for a little bit but you will probably smoke the factory amp.OMG What you need to do is find the input into the amp that is a full range signal and input that into your crossover.:talon:

either a. put them in without the crossover (but check to see if the tweet has a cap on it)
or b. buy a radio and rewire around the amp(bypass it)

I don't think the amp is crossed over but if it is those are your options

Thanks for replying guys. I thought nobody had any suggestions for this one. Right now I have the components hooked up directly to the factory amp. They sound fine so I’ll probably just leave it until I get an aftermarket head unit.

Did the factory tweeter have a capacitor on it? is so did you replace it on the new one?

He mentions he has the infinity premium sound. which leads me to believe that the stock tweeter does not have a cap/bass blocker because the stock infinity amp has the xover built in which does its job.

unfortunately we all know components should match to the xovers they come with because it is for their specs. it might not be the optimal setup but its "good enough", for now.

I would do whatever it takes to use the xovers that come with the component set you bought, but in OP's situation where he is using the stock deck, its not worth it. For now i guess what you did is fine, let the stock amp do the x-ing over for your components, until you can get a better deck/amp.
