OK guys i'm new to dsmtuners.com. I currently own a Dodge SRT-4. Previously I had two 1st gen AWD talons. Then I bought the SRT-4 seeking a new car. Up to date, I love it, and is the best car i've had as far as overall. But now due to some financial, and family problems, i'm forced to get rid of the SRT-4. So I have looked at a few dsm's and currently I got my eyes set on a 1997 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. The guy wants 3K for it, the car has 145,000 miles on it. Its bone stock, and everything works. What do you guys think, you think it is good for that price, or should I look into something else. I just want some feedback since I have been away from the DSM community for a while now. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you!

glad to see you guys agree with me. Overall the car is really clean, the only flaw that I noticed was that the drivers side door has a miner dent, but its not big deal, it shouldn't be to expensive to fix. Everything else works fine. I drove it and did a first and second gear pass and the car doesnt feel weak, it feels really strong, and its bone stock also on stock boost level. So hopefully I will get it soon.

Check for boost leaks when you first get it. I'm sure you'll find some.

Ok, I'm having a hard time setting a price here.

The cars a 99 GSX 5spd, and its stock besides a greddy RS BOV, and HKS turbo timer. Nothing else has ever been modified on the car. I drive it as a daily driver. It needs a new clutch, it gets into gears and such and drives fine, but I feel a lost in power. I checked edmunds for a private party cost on my car and it came out around 5500.

The car is silver with black leather interior and has 182k miles on it. Its been maintained pretty well through its life, I just need to focus on school instead of cars. Anyways I've been checking a lot of craigslists ads for GSX and many of the GSX's in my area, ( cant find any that are 2gb) are all selling for alot cheaper than I thought with alot less miles.

I'm sorry if this post is coming off kind of iffy, I just want to set a perfect price. I owned a camry before the GSX, the tranny blew on the camry and ended up getting it replaced which costed 2000 (jdm auto tranny). I then sold the car for 2800. I just felt really ripped off selling the camry for that much, ( the camry also had 180k miles on it, but it lost power itself)

Any type of response would be greatly appreciated.

$5,000 sounds like a reasonable price for the car. A lot of dsmers would love a 99 gsx and because we'll modify these cars the high mileage and clutch isn't too much of an issue (chances are they'll be replaced anyway with upgrades). If you're still not sure on a selling price you might want to put $5,000 OBO or Negotiable. I don't know how handy you are but if you can you might want to buy and install a new clutch then sell it.

First, lets be realistic....a 99 with 182K on the clock has more issues than a clutch. A GS-X HAS been beat on, unless it was owned by the proverbial "little 'ol lady".

Although I will agree with the "supply and demand" theory. As stated, set a price and throw OBO at the end of it.

my G/F will trade you her Corolla + 500 w/ new clutch and brakes for your car.
its a 92.

I would set a $6500 on it with a bottom of $5k. Somebody might think it is worth $6. I personally would rather pay 10K for one with less miles on it and no issues. "Loss of power," is a broad spectrum.

hahahahahaha... yeah they're idiots, I may be a young punk but I will never call my dsm a piece of shit (publicly hahaha). The name has been bashed enough by idiots, and I will not add to that. But seriously, the chasis miles shouldn't matter for someone that is going to keep up with the maintenance. A chasis doesn't just "fall apart" unless it's rusted.

Hey Nice car!!

Anyways, I would say your GSX' value is about $6500, +/- $1500 since I cannot actually see it or hear it run.

Put a clutch in it, wash it up real nice and run around for a few days with a for sale sign visible...you could probably get $7000 if you worked it right...:thumb:

I just put mine on Egay yesterday...

I found a 91 GSX with 107,000 origanal miles!! the guys asking 1,000 for it!!! My question is do you guys think its worth it?? EVERYTHING is all stock!

The bads!

1-When motor start it sounds like its got a little nock then goes away after about a minute!
2- The idle bounches a little bit!
3- The tags are due! It has to go threw emissions

What do you guys think? Here's some pictures

I would get it. I picked up my 90 AWD Talon for $650 and it was in pieces when I got it.

Simple lifter tap

Probably a boost leak.

So what? It has a 6-bolt. It can handle Lots o power! Get it to pass.:thumb: . I think it's a good deal.

I think you better get it quick or it will not be there. And I agree with DSM-onster
