Like i told you in email 1/4NPT is not the correct thread size for that turbo fitting.. It's 1/8npt

Old one was leaking and this one was like 9$ on ebay.:sneaky:

No, that's a big nono.:nono:
I tapped a hole in my IC piping and ran it from that pressure source.

Explain to me why tapping the BOV line is a "big nono?" It's a better and more stable pressure source than the intercooler pipes.

my room mate has the bulls eye t04b v trim on his 2g its really laggy and doesnt make any real power untill around 5krpm. at like 19psi we put down 299awhp on pump and a stock head and block. we have 680cc injectors and a 255 but i was really disapointed. especially when sbr says they made more than that at only 15psi on a 1g. im curious as to know how it reacts you your car with more boost. pm me too if this thread dies please

2. Long route vs short route, increased chance of boost spike.

3. Turbo protection. In a case of developed boost leaks in your intake tract, tapping BOV line will result in turbo spinning out of control while boost gauge till maintains full boost. Where as a compressor source will open wategate sooner while registering pressure drop on your boost gauge.

4. This is the most important one. Tapping your BOV line will result in an opened BOV under WOT because of pressure bleed through the MBC's wastegate pressure relief hole. The situation gets worse when using a bleeder type like the TurboXS units because it's also a vacuum leak which can lead to idle surge as well as compressor surge.

I'm just curious, how exactly is 1/4 smaller than 1/8?

The turbo fitting is 1/8npt to -4an.. Trust me i've made about 50 turbo oil feed lines for garrett turbos.

A couple of things you need to realize are Slowboy results cannot be trusted and their results may have been different from yours for the fact that the motor they used was built. I saw the page you were talking about and was thinking bout getting a V-trim until I looked into it more. I chose the scm5031e and I hope to be alot more satisified.

HOLY SH*T! 8 PSI.... its a freaken rocket... a little misfire issues at real top end... 6800 ish... but holy crap this is so different from the T25. This turbo has like 2 different levels of boost..
the 4000-4500 area which just begins the beautiful sound of spool which puts you into your seat, then there's the 4500-7000 range, which turns your car into a rocket, putting your ass into your seat and holding on for dear life, I can't wait to turn up the boost on this baby!

And just to clear things up, it was a 1/4 fitting, fit like a charm, used some thread sealant and no more leaking oil!

Also, as an edit, threw in the NGK E7's, and misfire went away.... this thing is so F*cken fast, it's unbelievable, so much more power @ 4000 at 8-9 psi than T25 ever did at 15 psi.

Only thing, I can't seem to launch sucessfully anymore, is it because I'm trying @ a low rpm? My limiter is set to 4500, I'll try 5000 later and maybe it'll have more luck.
When the limiter kicks in, turbo is like @ 1-2 psi... oddly?

Also, somehow as I was pushing this turbo to topend, the hose I used to recirculate old turbo water lines exploded.... I lost all my coolant and had to drive back 2 miles, which took me like and hour... LOL All fixed now.

It spools around 4k? I thought they spooled around 3200 or so (though thats based upon this link from Dejon).

Yes I'm sorry, it does being to spool at around 3300 ish but hits full boost at like 4000, which is 8-10 psi, but I seem to be spiking around 15... which is why i'm throwing misfires...
turbo is so awesome! :dsm:

Whew, thanks for clearing that up. I was planning on getting a 50trim much later down the road, but didn't want something that didn't start spooling till 4k+.

Clutch doesn't seem to be slipping yet, maybe because i'm not actually putting down that much more power... or because I really don't know what kind of clutch is even in this car, the previous owner changed it and never told me exactly which one he got.

There are two different Oil inlet fitting for Garrett turbos. PTE's are usually the 1/8" npt fittings and the ones that Bullseye uses are usually the 1/4" npt fitting. Most of the Borg Warner turbos that I have are a 1/4" BSPT fitting.

I can't wait to get my turbo on!!!! Wish me luck ### if my car starts smoking again I'm going to be pissed
