Personally, I think that signing the petitions is a waste of time. They will not listen to those who complain. They will do what will make them money. NASCAR is by far, the biggest motorsport in North America and they will keep capitalizing on that fact. Until other motorsports become more popular they will not get much airtime.

People need to stop focusing on how to minimize the NASCAR airtime on SPEED and start thinking about how they can help promote and support their favorite type of racing so that we don't all have to watch NASCAR reruns, NASCAR talk shows, old movies, and bobsledding on a channel that used to be dedicated to motorsports. I go to as many SPEED World Challenge races as I can. I've sent letters to the sponsors of ALMS and World Challenge thanking them for their support of my favorite racing. I buy t-shirts to help show off my favorite racing series.

To make any sort of change, we need to get butts in the seats at other racing venues. That will be the only way to minimize the NASCAR overload we have today.

Petitiononline is a joke. probe owners sgned one hoping ford would bring it back...LOL.

Quoted for greatness an resized for emphasis. Money talks and bullshit walks. If you want to see more of other forms of motorsport (real motorsport) on television, get out there and support those other events! So many corporations have their grubby mitts into NASCRAP that it's hard to get away from supporting them for doing so, so the best way you can fight the ignorant, low brow, mouth-breather pud-pulling fest that is NASCRAP from growing is to invest your time and efforts into supporting the forms of motorsport you like.

Go to an ALMS race if you can. Get out there to the local SCCA/NASA events and network with other people who enjoy driving where the wheel is turned both ways. If you ask anyone at a rally where/if you can help, they will put you to work right away helping out and, at that point, you're no longer a spectator. You're an important VIP who makes motorsport in this country possible.

I say, to hell with NASCAR. Skill, schmill. Put those fools in literally stock cars (not that any of the manufacturers in NASCAR could make a stock car that goes 200mph and runs for 250 miles without falling apart) and have them race on UN-banked courses with a mixture of left and right turns and it will become a respectable form of motorsport. Until then, it's just a bunch of wealthy redneck f*cks driving in circles and an excuse for the knuckle-draggers of our rapidly degrading society to swill down generic, pisswater beer in public while anxiously awaiting another crash.

yeah bring on the ignorance. just cause you dont like it means its redneck hick hillbilly no-skill blah blah blah. if you did a little research youd find most driver start out just like any other person out there, and gain experience by becoming well-versed in all racing aspects. just cause they end up making left hand turns in NASCAR doesnt mean they cant race in any other event. most drivers could buy, own and sell you in a SCCA road racing event before you could even call them daddy.

this won't work. mitsu has it's heart set on the new technology that it's developed and won't turn back because of an internet petition.

Seriously, bring on the new platform, mivec and twin scroll was cool enough, i'm anxious to see what their engineers pull outta their ass this time. Perptual motion? Maybe?

Heard they were doing an aluminum block this time instead of cast iron... If so bad idea... 80 percent of the new cars suck to me, i think a lot of them are heavy clumsy technologically over done and performance limited in most cases with the modern cars.

Evo started out as a badass and still is remember the, EVO is a rally car so they can't stretch to far from perfect, We should just hope and pray whatever it is it can fit in our hoods.

i signed it, wth right? Mise well, although i will have to agree it is probably useless. But if they ever in the future (2020 kinda future) rerelease the 2g, or even the 1g, i would be purchasing a brand new car by any means possible asap.

its a 4 cylinder, i'm giving mitsu the benefit of the doubt because the evo is their performance bread and butter. According to car and driver(or something like that) It beats the hatch sti's ass, even though the sti has better numbers go figure.

Trust me, you don't want an Evo, at least not a current Evo. I would never trade in my 2g for one. Their interior sucks. All the power in the world won't make up for their clutch issues too. The throw out bearing on an evo works backwards. It pulls the clutch instead of pushes. This is why clutches go bad in them so quickly. Quarter Master makes a hydrolic throwout bearing for I think 200-300 dollars and can only be used with their clutch. I don't know if any of you have driven a twin disk clutch but it is horrible on the street. Even with this throwout bearing the clutch fails within 500-10000 miles depending on the driving and costs $2300. No thank you! I'll keep my 2g unless the Evo X is better.

Hmmm... No i did know that.. I thought they had fixed that problem in the evoVIII serries. I haven't heard anything about the clutches going out recently. My friend had a evo9 mr but i don't know if he had it long enough to really see what problems it could have. and the new evo is supose to handle better than both previous car it uses the active center diff from the 9 and ayc from the jappense models

I agree, but signed it just for sh*ts and giggles.

Id kinda like to see Mitsu put out a Inline 6 Cyl Sports car. Something Like a Supra, Skyline or BMW M3. Im personally not into the whole V8 scene even if its newer.

You cant deny what a Inline 6 can do and the amazing sound they produce. Plus in my mind, The Inline 6 is the way to go for Big power and ease to work on. I love that it takes 10 minutes to change out spark plugs and have the car running again.

Although Im a Mitsu man at heart, I still would buy a Skyline and since I live in Canada, its easy to get a 1989-1992 GTR for around $10,000 CDN. Having driven a few, The throttle response that a purely stock GTR has is Incredible. Put a 3"-4" exhaust on it, Intake, Turn up the boost to 16psi and get it tuned and your running 350whp, and will woops cars putting down close to 450whp from a roll and off the line because of the extremely long gears.

That's where Mitsu need to start building its Technology.

Well my friends brother had an evo8 and was running near 350hp with the stock clutch and he had about 50k miles on it, I think more.

350 hp is only like 60 over stock. So what?!! I'm talking real mods. Any Evo making substantial power will tear through a clutch in a very short time. The equivilant DSM can make a clutch last for years depending on the driving. Case in point, my ACT 2600 was put in 3 years ago and has over 50k on it, went 11.82@117mph and still holds 27psi on a GT35R. It has only recently started to show signs of wear. Try this with an Evo with a clutch that costs less than $500. It will not happen.

The new Lancer base model has better chassis rigidity than the Evo 9 MR. Yes, the base modle is better than the last Evo. The new Evo will be insane in handling even without the fancy electronic gizzmos.
