Which turbo will be sufficient for consistent 11 second times? I've recently decided on a big 16g, but will that be big enough to run 11s with supporting mods and decent tuning? Remember, this is for a budget street car, so any one purchase over $1k is tough. A big 16g will run about $700-900, which is about $300-400 less than the larger alternatives.

Of course, I'll need lots of practice to run these times, but, I just want to make sure that it's possible before the money is spent.

I THINK ITS ABOUT $850 WITH INSTALL KIT. THE ONLY THING THAT ISNT A DIRECT BOLT ON IS THE IC PIPING. THE ONLY REASON I WAS THINK OF SOMTHING OTHER THEN 16G BECAUSE I DIDNT WANT TO GET TRIED OF ITS LIMITS AND HAVE TO UPGRADE, BUT I THINK THE EVO 16G WILL DO ME GOOD FOR NOW THANKS FOR THE ADVICE.:thumb:1 MORE QUESTION WHERE CAN YOU FIND EVO III 16G FOR LESS THEN $500???

The bullseye turbo sounds great and makes good power. I also spoke with the manufacturer of the turbos in person and was very impressed but as stated before its not bolt on and you need the install kit as well as different intercooler piping. I did end up going evo III 16g because its direct bolt in and guys are making 400hp with it which is plenty good for me.

Also, you need to specify what you want out of the car. After a LOT of research and advice, I went with the Evo III (and a few other upgrades) because I want a fast spooling/torquey "fun" car; not a high revving dragster or bench racer.

Hopefully I'll have it all back together in a few weeks and can go play :D

Very good point Im glad you brought it up. What do you want out of the car?

Maybe at the crank, but not the wheels. As for the other guy a evo 3 16g is a good choice in turbo, but if your plans are for more power why not buy once and get what you want instead of wasting 500 bucks on something you are going to sell ?

SBR made a little over 400WHP. I'm sure a couple others.

400 WHP? I'd like to see a spec and dyno sheet on that. Was it a stroker? Were they running any nitrous? FWD or AWD? I personally doubt 400 WHP on an AWD, but if so, I'd like to see how they did it. If it's not bs, then awesome, I just wanna see it. :)

The turbo is not much better than the evo16g and not worth the money. On one of my local forums bullseye is no longer a sponsor because of problems users have had with there turbos. They have been known to break for no reason.

Well im about to get rid of one of my awd 1g's
So i can concentrate on my other one.
So now im in the process of chosing parts.I have pretty much everything else picked out or atleast between 2 or 3 things in that catagory.I cant go any farther until i pick my turbo setup tho.
So im wondering what turbo you guys think i should go with.
Im aiming for 10's. I know not easy but the 1g im getting rid of runs 11's so i think im able. Now with that doubt out of the way.
I dont care about flange style or anything. This is why im looking into turbos now so i can figure out my header options.
Im hoping to find a turbo that boost hard but also spread out over the rpm range.I dont want full boost hitting to late or to early.
I prefer running an external wastegate.
So what turbos do you guys think i should look into?Keep in mind tho if i do hit my goal i might want to push a little farther so sumthing that will be consistant at 10's but not maxed out.It needs to have a little extra boost left in it.
Im not just going to get some ideas than aboandon this thread so pleze only people willing to discuss turbo options and there pros/cons until i make my decision need post here.
Thanks for your time and space.

Well i was looking for around 350whp to 375whp in that ball park.I think i am going to go with evoIII 16g or big 16G. Most liky i wont reach these # with these turbos but its possible.

THANKS FOR THE INPUT

NO! SBR achieved 400whp using an evo3 16G w/ a stroker (2.4L) setup; cammed and the works. I talked to Nate at SBR about this. ZERO chance to get 400whp w/ a stock long block. And minimal w/ a built head, unless revving past 8000 rpms...

Just because a turbo can flow 400 whp worth of air DOES NOT mean your set up will injest such an amount. Your setup has to call for that much airflow.

SBR got 397 hp w/ their stage V head, hks 272 cams, and 8.8 CR pistons. DEFINATELY not stock long block...

What was your old setup that netted you 11's? What turbo? It would be nice to know what you used to get you 11's so we can reccomend an upgrade from whatever your old setup was.
