Okay Part One:

I am in the market for a Blow Off Valve to handle my needs in the department of power. I'm going to be aiming for 500+ awhp and need a blow off valve to handle the boost.

My two choices are the TurboXS H-RFL and the Tial 50mm. I'm wondering which one would be the better choice and why.

Part Two:

I read earlier about the port setup for the tial wastegate, but am still a bit confused. I have the 44mm. I think that from the way I read, I need to hook up the vac line from my Greddy Profec B EBC to the side port of the wastegate and keep the top port vented to atmosphere. Can someone please verify? Thanks.

oh, and I searched the first topic, and only came up with one thread that didn't answer my question. As for the second, just trying to get some additional clarification in the same thread.

I can't really give you anything about the Turbo XS BOV but I do have the Tial and it'll handle anything you can throw at it. All the cars I know of that are 600+ awhp have this BOV. I have never heard of one failing either. Your needs will be met and then some. The sound is great too. Not too noisy or annoying. At high boost it sound like a big "whoosh" of air instead of Minnie Mouse sneazing like some other BOVs.

thanks for your input man. i'm just looking for pros and cons of both i guess.

also still need a clear answer on the ports of the wastegate. thanks again.

Don't waste your money on the RFL bov. The mounting flange is a joke, using grub screws to hold it in place. I ran one for a day and it leaked and was way too loud. Stick with the Tial.

Go with a tial 50mm bov, look under the hood of any high hp supra evo dsm 99% of the time they run a tail..My friend has a rfl they suck it leaks on his evo16g at 20 psi.

okay then. you guys have sold me on that. anyone know about my question on the vac ports for the tial wastegate?

The other way around, the setup you described is for a ball/spring MBC. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=258360

Edit: I shouldn't have said "the other way around", what I meant to say is EBC to the top and direct intake pressure to the side.

yeah that's the thread i read earlier, and from what i read i though i needed to run the ebc to the side port and vent the top port to atmosphere.

Then you didn't read it carefully enough.

4. EBC or bleeder MBC, side port sees intake pressure (which will result in #3), the outlet of EBC or bleeder connects to the top port, for every psi the top port sees, there is one PSI increase in intake pressure. Note, a bleeder MBC will work in reverse in adjustment as in an internal gate environment, the more pressure you bleed off, the less the top port sees, the lower the boost level.
