If you've been keeping up with my previous thread: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=255242 I pretty much got it fixed. Pretty much. It works 1-3rd gear, but when 4th (OD) engages, it just jumps into neutral. I have no idea where to start looking for this problem. Also, is it normal to have almost no power under 3k and then get whiplash as it hits it? Something else isn't quite right and I can't seem to put my finger on it. There is a leak in the vacuum line for the wastegate, but I plan on fixing that before I do any more driving. Any ideas?

When my end clutches went out it would just jump into neutral in 4th gear od... but for the no power under 3k i have no idea, might be torque converter slipping. I would open up or have someone open up the tranny to see whats really going on inside.

So, you think 4th gear is the end clutch going bad, anyone second that? Also, I'm more worried about the no power under 3k. I can deal with no 4th gear for awhile since I'm rarely on road that the speed limit is about 55mph.

Anyone wanna at least point me into whether or not they think it's electrical or mechanical problem?

if I were in your position I would drop the pan on the trans and check a. the condition of the trans fluid and b. the magnets on the pan for an assload of metal shavings.

I believe your end clutches are out for the od. Check out ipttrans.com or just to to tre since theyre in town and have them get the end clutches, you can change them w/o dropping your tranny.

I did recently drop the pan to swap out the solenoids to new IPT solenoids. There were no metal shavings, though I was missing a magnet. 2 are left though. There were no metal shaving at the time, and tranny fluid has just been replaced. This was about 4 months ago, and maybe 100 miles due to it not working. Should I just move on to the end clutches? I know plymouthlaser.com has a good walkthrough on replacing the end clutches and seals.

I just got off the phone with TRE, turns out they don't do auto trannies :p They did say it could be the end clutch, but there is probably more than just that, like low hydraulic pressure. So, would replacing the end clutch be a good start?
