Ok heres whats going on. I got a 7-bolt bottom end and i have a 1g head with a 1g cam CAS that has been rewired from when my 6-bolt was in there. The motor is in and the wires are all connected to the harness but the car is not starting. It acts like it wants to but it never gets to the point of starting. It turns over just fine just doesn't start. I was think that maybe that we it was the harness but I 97% sure everything that i took off has been put back on. The only plugs that i can find that arent pluged are the ones for the egr and mdp sensor.

The next thing that is really odd is that the oil pressure gauge is at the top and just says high even when the keys are not in the car it still says high doesn't drop or nothing. I can't determine why it is doing that I didn't plug that sensor in the shop did. So I looked in my book but I can't find anything that even suggest what to even start to look for. The shop says that everything is timed right and it should start assuming that all of the wires on the harness are hooked up correctly. But the way its set up is that the wires wont go any farther than they need to.. For ex the first injector is set up with the first connector and second with second connetor and third with third connector and forth with forth connector. I belive everything is plugged in.

What wires on the harness would allow the car to try to start but not turn on? I'll post more but I have to go to school in the morning and its already 2 something but If anyone has any anwsers please post them so i can also look while im at school tommorrow. I really just don't know anymore..

Thanks gsxeclipse97

you need three thing spark, fuel, and air, make sure you are getting spark because if your not getting spark than you wont get fuel so check spark

I've got spark tested that already. Sometimes when i try to start it would say backfires like its going to come on but nothing happens from their. Also why is the oil pressure gauge up like that?

fuel, spark, n compression. Make sure both cam n crank sensors are in working order. also check for any Codes.

You need to recheck all the plugs and the wires. If your oil gauge is still reading the same way you might have a short. If your cam snesor is either bad or it is not spliced correctly then the car will not start. You really need to go back and slowly check all the connecters on the harness. May the force be with you.:thumb:

the gauge reads that way when the car is off and the battery is out. I'm going to go check and see if i can find anything wrong with the wiring of the cam sensor

I tried to pop the clutch to get the car to start and it started for like 2-5 seconds but it was really quite and only idled at 100 or less didn't even regesiter on the tach. but it was on. I talked to the shop and asked them about the timing and he said that the timing for surely correct he did it while the motor was out side the car. Are there any sensors that wouldn't allow the car to turn on if they were not plugged in As far as I could tell they are all plugged in..

Ok well I checked all of the plugs on the harness and everything is in the correct place and the car still won't start!:(  I just don't understand whats going on now.. The shop says the timing is right but I'm not paying more money to have it towed to another place because it won't start.. What are the other possible causes for it not starting. So far I have tried to jump it, rearange the injector plugs, I have tried to move the CAS sensor around and nothing yet. It acts like it want to come on but it just does't do it. What do you need to do to preform a compression test on a motor?
