I am Currently running GM MAF sensor and considering Meth injection. My question is will the meth hurt the MAF sensor if placed before it? I don't think it will but want to be sure. The other question is what is the best location for the methanol injector?
Thaks ahead of time for the help.

I have a coolingmist H2O/Meth injection kit in my car with a GM MAFT in Blow through setup. I placed the meth injection nozzle about 6 inches from the throttle body in my UICP after the GM MAS sensor.

Something VERY IMPORTANT to keep in mind. The GM Mas is a "HOT WIRE" air flow sensor. It has three resistors that get heated to a set temp and as incoming cooler air flows over them and cools them it sends that info the the MAFT to be converted to a "KARMAN" value that our DSM's can understand. If that GM MAS should get wet from H2O or Methanol or any injected liquid it will read VERY RICH and bog your car. I know this from personal experience.

Most H2O/Meth kits will have instructions stating something about placement of the nozzle, most will be just before the throttle body. Howerver, one of the Enginerunup kits, places 1 nozzle in each of the intake runners. These set-ups still place the nozzle after the mas air sensor regardless of install style.

Yeah, you'll want to put it far behind the MAF. Not only will liquids hurt your MAF readings (and potentially damage the MAF) the injection force near the MAF can cause enough turbulence to disturb MAF readings.

BTW, Methanol / Ethanol, and various combinations thereof is highly corrosive. It'll eat through the plastic MAF housings fairly quick - there's even been cases of ethanol eating through mild steel / aluminum welds.

How exactly does meth injection work? Is it anything like nitrous? How risky is the use of methanol? what other things must be changed to run meth injection?

Awesome guys that was the info I was looking for. I'm a long time honda addict even though my first "tuner car" was a 97 AWD TSI. I have little to no experience with MAF setups (since honda's use MAP sensors) so this was deffinetly the info I was looking for. That's awesome. Again thanks for the info.

Meth injection works by injecting methanol, alcohol, H2O or a combination of these into the intake tract similar to nitrous. They have the ability to raise your octane level due to there ability to resist knock. The other positive effect it has is acting like an intercooler due to the latent heat properties of the liquid (see "absorbing heat"). There is actually more complicated scientific and chemical reasons but that is the jist.

You can use meth injection anytime it's usefullness comes though with it's ability to allow you to run high boost levels (see 20+psi) due to the advantages I listed above. Do the research and decide if it's for you.

Again Thanks alot for the help guys. Feel free to correct any mistakes I may have made.
