Although a true reply to the original question would have to be:

You can't really compare 2 players from such a difference in playing time. MJ was a toddler while LB was playing, and likewise, LB was an old man while MJ was playing. There's a wide margin as far as fitness level goes between players but both were extremely good in their era.

Larry Bird is only 7 years older and played along with Jordan...on the same olympic team.

They played together; however, LB was well past his prime at the time while MJ was still in his (although on the back side of it).
