Yeah, Znet is pretty easy to manage and navigate... I have been there for a year now... and its okay... but dont get all cocky cause you work there... Alot of guys I know that work there claim to be ASE certified and I built this and that, but they don't have a clue... trust me, and they think they can diagnose anything, I hate gray shirts... and the store manager is even worse... wait til you go to a WITTDTJR meeting, give me an "A", sit and twist buddy, Jackson 5 This! I am telling you, let go of that whole mentality of I am an AUtozoner, cause no one cares...

Haha, WITTDTJR. Man, I remember those days. I used to work there, quit about six months ago because of school. One of my now closest friends still works there. We had some fun. But at the same time its not all fun, you will meet some grey shirts who will be dicks and want to follow all the rules to a T. (like you cant go help a customer on their car if only two people are working in the store, but will yell at you for not helping every customer in every way) It can get a little ridiculous. Either you will love it or hate it.

^^^^

"G@y" shirts are bit**es... They aren't even Mechanics, they just sell parts... That's it, nothing more... They don't yell here, they know better than that shi*, I will cus a MF out, tact or no tact, they aren't in the Union. Most states won't let you do any auto repair unless you are ASE cert'd, and that means bulbs and batteries too... So sit and twist AZ....

hahaahh i worked for autozone for over a year those were some fun times, funnest job ive had soo far pay wasnt bad for a 17 year old in high school. My managers were cool store manager bought takeout for everybody on truck night and would give you any day off you wanted no questions asked. Most of the red shirts were guys going to UTI so we were all young and did some crazy shit and one of my best friends who was only 19 at the time was a grey shirt and when we closed we did some crazy shit like burnouts in the parking lot, man i miss those days... got fired though sucks.

WORST JOB I EVER HAD! You know in the employee handbook or whatever it says to NEVER talk about the zone online?! I am tellin your store manager!

+1. I work there now, but I'm looking for something else. Autozone, is by far, the worst company I have ever worked for... period. The "upper level" managment have ZERO education. They think they're the smartest people to ever walk this earth, not to mention anyone with a gray shirt thinks that of themselves, too. I swear, they think they're the most important people alive. If you're shirt is red, they look and treat you like you're scum. I think that's funny because they make shit for money, are assholes, most are HS drop outs, and are just stupid and ugly. I'm not a cocky person, but they force me to go into that mode in order to stick up for myself.

I'm in the commercial in back, and in the winter, it doesn't do too well. That's just how it is. The commercial manager for our district called one day hoping to get more sales of of us. Here's how they try and "help" us bring our sales up. This is where ZERO education of business comes into play.

Me: "Autozone commercial this is Reg."
Duesch: "Enrique?"
Me:"This is Reg."
Duesch: "Enrique?"
Me: "REGGIE!"
Deusch: "What strore is this?"
Me: "Insert strore number here"
Duesch: "Oh, is Clinton there?!?" (Clinton is my boss)
Me: "It's his day off."
Duesch: "We need more sales!!!"
Me: "I know this."
Duesch: WE NEED MORE SALES!"
Me: Yes, I know."
Deusch: "Do whatever it takes to make more money!!!!"
Click.

Yeah, how professional of you. Where did you learn how to inspire so well? Middle school?
At least in our district, the WITT meetings consist of nothing fear tatics. "We'll fire you for this, you're fired if you do that" blah blah. And if you're not Mexican, you ain't movin' up without the fight of your life. Eventhough I have no idea why anyone would ever want to advance in this shithole company. I HATE AUTOZONE! I can't wait to finish with ####ing school so I can never step foot in there again.

At least someone is on the same page as me... Well, go ahead sk8r07999, tell your boss.... and Jozyxp, you have been there for 5 years, I bet you are at least a ASM or SM by now.... Makin' Time and a half all the time... I am serious, this place is a joke, like he said above, sell sell sell, whatever... and like I said, these guys aren't even part of the union, so they shouldn't even be doing battery changes and whatever else they do. I know in some states they wont even pop the hood if you arent in the union. I am only doing this job now for the discount and for the school part.... I am seriously thinking about Advance or Napa... Napa is a hell of a lot better, carquest is too. I don't care what other people think there, they are all wannabe mechanics and wanna be ASE parts professionals... Whatever... THey need a reality check, like Red 97 said,"they think they're the most important people alive," and they do, the DM and RM think they are God.... they can shove it for all I care, we all know who really matters... And as far as the paychecks go, they always say, Customers are the reason why we get paid, well, for the upper levels, we Red and grays are the reason why you get paid. Credit goes to those that are in the battlefield, not in the seats observing... We are all customers to other people in some way...

Napa is a lot better than Auto zone. I work at napa and everyone who answers the phones here know what there talking about and there are no gray shirts or diff departments or anything like that. I hate auto zone, I called last week for a banjo bolt for my oil feed line. I was passed around to four different people before someone admitted to not know what a banjo bolt was. Now i just call up when i am bored and ask for parts that don't exist like muffler bearing or something like that and let them waste there time looking like they wasted mine!

I worked at the dc in zanesville for about 2 1/2 years. It was kinda fun,it was 3rd shift and all.Yea the management is a joke at best.We had a guy written up because he didnt have enough "enthusiasm" while leading the autozone cheer, haha.

I've heard of the wal-mart cheer but not the autozone cheer. How does it go?? ROFL

Well you spell out autozone with your arms and body. Its uhh, whats the word,oh yea, retarded! Then it goes whats that spell(then you say napa or advance just to piss em off, haha),whose numer 1,the customer,etc...We would usually ad lib most of it just to get some pride back.I cant believe I remember that, havent worked there in over 4 years.I know stealing went on a lot.Someone took $30k in r12 freon,a supervisor stole palets of parts and such.I saw a temp on his first day go up to a woman and start to dry hump her(you cant make this stuff up).We would duct tape people to the racks, wrap shrink wrap around the baskets and pallet jacks that would take an hour to cut off, throw oil filters at birds,etc...

I am never buying an oil filter from Autozone again. Check that, I'm never shopping at Autozone again:|

The fact that they make you sing a song and act like a gaymo with muscular dystrophy makes me never want to support their crap again.

Throw oil filters at birds ROFL. The only time I have been there was I was just passing by and I needed to check if they had some couplers. The guy said no but gave me a free radiator hose:D I will purposely drive 5-10 more miles just to go to an advance or O'reilys.

The only way I would stop in an Autozone is for an emergency vacuum tee or if oil/anti-freeze is on sale. Actually Wal-Mart has the best deal on oil with their 5 quart jugs. It just stinks having to go into either of those places (A$$holeZone/WallyMart) and deal with the cliental. It's like a third world country in some of those stores. I can't even imagine working there :barf:
