The ironic thing about that is that when a certain person says, "I really need a reliable daily driver so I can get back and forth from work". Everyone says, hey get a Toyota, or a Honda, or maybe a little Cavalier, etc etc. But as soon as the Cavy breaks down people say "Damn Chevrolet, should have bought a Ford" then the Escort or Ranger breaks down and people say "Damn Ford should have bought a Dodge", then the Neon breaks down and people say "Should have bought one of them foreign jobs, Toyota or something", then the Corolla, or Honda Accord, or Nissan Altima, etc. breaks down, and then people say "Damn ### crap, should have bought a Chevy or a Ford"..........They all break down.

tru.dat

As any sort of enthusiast, I think you have to accept that stuff happens. Yeah, the video could have been done with any cars, but you know what... I'm a DSMer. Whatever though. People want to take offense to it, I just think they need to get the stick out of their asses and lighten up.

Now, back to the pics.

Truthfully, I think part of appreciating ANY car is being able to accept that shit goes wrong. 29k, you're lucky. A lot of us have over 100k. Some of us 1g guys are probably pretty damn close to 200k. I guess if you only have 29 on the car, yeah I wouldn't really question the reliability. And truthfully, I wouldn't even try to make that maintenance claim if I were you.

^^^ Bud, thats a really stupid thing to say to me. Have you seen my cars profile? YES my car only has 29k on it BUT it's 8 years old! It haas been worked through thoroughly. My friend has a stand alone Tech3r with a DFU on his VR6 and it's recommended that he change this spark plug wires every 12 months. Maintenance is high performance's best friend LOL

There's a difference between beating the shit out of your car (and not bothering to open your hood once in a while) then being responsible for something you want to last. You will find every cars weak point fast if you beat on it. Just take the WRX for example... How long did it take for them to figure out that the trany's are inherently weak? I know a kid that drove his STi like a drag car for a year before he couldn't shift it any longer.

So does that make STi's not reliable? NO

I am sorry I took offense to you wanting to make a Video like this. The reason I spent a lot of money to get a low mile car like I did is because I wanted a clean 2gb. I wouldn't sell my car for any new car on the market in the 30k price range. I just love these cars and I know what it feels like to have your beloved car brake down on you. I don't like the feeling and I don't think it would be a cool video to do, that's all.

And not to mention the circulation of the video would probably lead to our car being worth less and continue the bullshit in offer forums saying our cars are unreliable. Now it would just be proof right?

It's a conspiracy....LOL
