panama city, Florida
just got this today. it needs a new turbo but she will most definetly be driving by the end of febuary. its only got 80k on the block and 100 miles on the new head, timing belt, and water pump.

mods include.
ebiach 1" drop
kyb agx's
big 16g (blown)
polly motor mounts
megan racing muffler (woooohooooo!!!!)....

plans include...
strip everything i can minus seats, steering wheel, center consoul, and guages.
Megan racing open downpipe
ss autochrome o2 dump
2g exhaust manifold

if money allows..
home made fmic kit...

i know she looks like shit but i think it adds to the sleeper affect.

i would like for it to be a good reliable car i can drive while my talon is down and maybe to do a small amount of Autox in...

What turbo are you looking to go (i can get my hands on cheap 14b's if you want em)? Looks pretty sweet, especially for $300

And btw, wooden hatch struts ftw......i have to do the same thing

I also have to do the same the piece of wood your using looks very familiar LOL, not bad for 300 buck body looks good.

i smell a project goodwill 2 also :thumb:. i have already got the 2g exhaust manifold comming in the mail and a extra set of arp headstuds that will also be going in.

byrd pm sent about the 14b's

also i have the intercooler piping! its in the corona box. im not gonna be driving the car untill i replace that crappy ass IC piping.

yes your beater is WAY better. wish i could find a 2nd gen turbo awd for 100 bucks..

i got some more work done today. i was able to pull the turbo off and inspect to see how bad it is. there is a ton of shaft play but the compressor wheels look good. my buddy the other day broke the tip off his spark plug and it went through his exhaust side messing up his evo 3. well looks like i will beable to give him some money and swap things out to make it work. i also got around to removing the rear seats and some panels...

I got my "Winter Beater" for free, just had to fix my buddies Talon and he gave me his "Parts Car" (He even had it towed to my house). It just required a cyl. head and a few misc. junk yard parts to get going. The rest of my expenses have been for my own amusement!!!

How are you guys getting these prices? WTF!

well i kinda feel like a asshole of a friend for this BUT this is how i aquired mine. my buddy john just came back from the marines and he NEEDED to get rid of it before they shipped him off to NC (where he is now stationed at). he said david you wanna buy my car? i was like yeah but im not gonna pay 1k for that heap. i then said i wont pay more then 500 bucks for that thing and if he needed to sell it fast that i would buy it ASAP if he had no choice. so of course he came around and i had some title issues with my current talon and couldnt no longer give him 500 bucks. well i said i can give him 300 and he then signed the tital over to me...

its only apparently got 80k on the block (like i give a shit. as long as compression is good im happy), and i just helped him put a new cylinder head on it, along with ALL new timing belt componets, and water pump. so i know it was all done right. the times i wasnt with him he did all the jerry rigging wich is easily reversable. the hardest part i think will be fixing his halfed assed wiring, heli coiling the head bolts and oil inlet hole in the head

Thats not that bad...he needed the money and you wanted a car so it makes sense.

damn i cant belive how long its taken me to get this thing on the road. i ended up having to replace the cylinder head AGAIN. as soon as i started it up the first time it threw a timing belt and bent 4 valves. so i decided to upgrade some more!!!! LOL anyways she runs perfect now burning the tires all through first, second, and half way through 3rd at only 8psi!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA....it even handles pretty good with the kyb agx's and 1" drop...

mods now...
dejontool fmic
14b with 16g exhaust side (8psi)
2g exhaust manifold
ss autochrome o2 dump
sb J-pipe
17" rims
kyb agx's
ebiach 1" drop
auto meter boost gauge
arp headstuds
aftermarket oil cooler
90's oil filter housing with water pipe and thermostat housing
i cant wait to get this thing to a autox or the strip. will post times when this happens!

Wow, dude. Give me the low down on the Oil Cooler.

I see you have a 91, did you use a 90 Oil filter housing?
Did you have to tap the housing to get the fitting in?
What oil cooler is that?
How did you mount?
How long are the lines?

Mind doing a tech right up?

The reason I'm asking is because my FMIC is larger then I thought and I have to cut through the side wall to get the piping to go cleanly. Which means the oil filter has to go somewhere else.

what kind of fmic are you running? your really making this harder then it actually is. i just took the bumper off, hung the oil cooler, cut the steel braided lines, hung them up with some zip ties, and screwed them into the oil cooler and the oil filter housing. i had a 90's parts car i took a bunch of parts off of and i noticed on the ones without the oil cooler that there was a nipple on the water pipe and thermostat housing for the oil filter housing. so i basically just bolted thoes parts on and was ready to ride without having to find some way to plug the holes up for a much cleaner look.

hope that helps
