aright.. i just got my 1g gsx on sunday and today i bought a front mount core for it that came off a 95 supra. and i gotta find out what those metal lines are that run in front of the radiator and is there any way to move them? they look like a/c lines or heater core lines but is there any way to move them outta the way because if not i dont know if this intercooler is going to fit. its 4.5" thick.

Those lines are the power steering cooler. You can remove those steel pipes if you wish. When I installed my FMIC I just re-routed the rubber power steering lines right under the resivior behind the drivers side headlight. This allowed me to remove the steel piping in front of the Radiator to make room for my FMIC.

When I did mine I used a tubing cutter to cut the line. Went to Napa and got some 3/8" chemical resistant high pressure hose. I put small flares on the end of the lines and looped the hose between the top and bottom line, then clamped each end behind the flares. It is a real PITA to get it to slide over the lines since the line is actually metric(make sure to lube it REAL well), but it works real well. :thumb:

I don't know how I'd like the car without the p/s. I'll probably just have to loop them as well.

I swapped in a rack and pinion setup out of a N/T 1g. Its so much better, and it takes out a lot of weight. You feel more one with the car, because you can feel all the feedback in the road. Before I put the rack and pinion in I still liked it better, just was a pain to turn when not moving.

aright thanks... because i deffinately need to move those lines.. my intercooler is 4.5" thick so its gunna be tight even without those lines... i may have to cut the bumper.. LOL

i might consider doing that.... who needs that ne ways? LOL... its just those four bolts right? i already did the power steering lines.. thanks for the help on that.

ok... well just incase i have to remove it... where did u weld the brackets for the intercooler after u removed the bumper support?

Actually I have not installed my intercooler, but when we did my brothers, my mechanic welded me up a bracket to connect to the hood latch. The 1ga I own is different then the 1gb you have, but it should be about the same.

I am doing my FMIC aswell. I got rid of the bumper support and used some angle iron (aluminum) to fab up some brackets. Also my bumper cover does not seem to have any problem with out the support. I just bolted it up with the 3 bolts in the center and the two bolts on each side.
