After installing my prokit springs on my AGX shocks on my 98 GST, the AGX shocks have blown. No big deal I think as of right now. But I had a brand new set of tires in the rear and I went to rotate them the other day since my fronts are extremely worn, only to find out that the rear tires are bald all the way across as well. What could have caused this problem? I have also noticed that when I hit a rough section of road, my rear end likes to jump around and is extremely hard(acting squirley and skiddish) Also in the rain, my car is very unstable. Can anyone think of what could have happend?

Is that majoritively the most problem, or something else? some have said jack up the rear of hte car and see if the UCA bushing's are fudged and they're fine, i went side to side, up and down, in and out on the wheels and it had no plan in it what so ever.

if the shocks are blown there isn't going to be any rebound and the weight of the car is being thrown around on basically just springs which cant hold the whole car up, so everytime u hit a bump, or going downhill then transfer up hill the car pushes down extremely easy and rubs the tires, and if there is no rebound to push the wheels against the road, well there goes your handling, so def get those shocks fixed ASAP and good luck with everything

Even if you have 1 shock blown youll notice how crazy the rear end can get on that side.

Its the shocks, and its well explained by BLUE.

It's most likely the shocks, if your car is all over the road. As far as your tires, it may be your tires if they're not of a good qaulity. Although it could still be because of your shocks.

The most likely reason your rear tires are bald is alignment. Did you have it aligned when you put the struts and springs on? If the rear is toed out it will also cause rear end to be very jittery and uncomfortable to drive.

Between Blue95GST and jking you have your answer. I had alignment issues when I bought my car and since the camber and have been corrected the ride in the rain has improved markedly. Snow was VERY scary. At anything over 30 mph, the car would shimmy like I was riding on MT slicks with 9 lbs. of air in them and turns made the car feel as if it was going to do a 360.

Hope that helps,

Andy

Just for your information, the PROKIT rear springs do have a "TOP" and "BOTTOM", in other words they need to be installed with the tighter coils up top. I had the PROKIT installed and AGX's all around, and after leaving the shop the first good dip I hit, blew out the rears. I took it back under warentee and had them replaced just to have it happen again on the same dip. Next time back I went into the shop with the "Tech" to watch what he was doing and that is when I saw the mistake. He had the Springs installed upside down!!!!

Just goes to show you, if you can do it yourself, DO IT and save the money and headaches.

Um...no. The only surface that will wear the tires with any kind of uniformity is the road, usually due to incorrect toe settings.

Welcome to the 2G AGX Dumpster Club. Get some Koni Sports and never think about AGX's again. I'm also surprised KYB honored TURFNNSURF's warranty -- technically coil overs void a AGX warranty, another reason never to run their trash on a 2G...

I would love to get some Koni's, but I aint that big of a balla.... So get the struts fixed and then go get a new aligement front and rear?

I also noticed that with the Prokit's that I cut my bump stops almost a full inch and even in the front which are almost brand new the bump stop's are almost still touching the top of the shock body, is this normal or is my car just damned? :(
