That car is nuts.:rocks: I find myself watching those videos like 10x's in a row just fathaming how awesome it is.

SSSSSSSSLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could do that if I got a 1000 shot of NAWZ

Guys you have to realize I am extremely busy. Most of the time someone sends me a link and I click on it and respond. I don't go around searching for threads about my car.

As always I appreciate the support.

We appreciate everything you've done for us, too, John. Keep up the good work. We're all behind you. :)

here is a quote from john on another site for anyone that is wondering what happened with the car:
"Thanks for all the support and compliments guys.
We did not have a headgasket issue, I screwed up and shifted from 3-2 twice and it destroyed the valve train and the aem lost sync which backfired the engine and blew a hole in the head. To friggen bad. We had a spot open to test the car on Monday and see how far we could take it.

The engine does not appear to be laying over even at 11k so i think 200 mph would be possibl with this gearing. I am going to try a taller final drives to see if it helps or hurts just so I know though.

Oh and my car is no way "street legal" Fun to drive on the street ? HELL YES "

ok john,... for those 30-45 seconds before your car overheats, have fun

on a serious note, short of destroying your car (on purpose) I don't think you could ever piss us off. Were not going to be soar over you posting somewhere else first. I mean hell, whenever ANYONE gives me shit about my car, all I say is, "go to www.shepracing.com, then we'll talk"

your videos ALWAYS make people SHUT the #### up. You can't really argue with, 2 liters, 7 seconds, awd.

it really makes owning an eagle talon a lot easier. I mean, you eclipse guys get the ricer comments, but people give you so much more shit when your car's manufacture only exsisted for 8 years. Having someone amazingly fast to represent us really helps.

THANKS

well, does anyone know what front axels he uses? Im assuming he uses one of his own trannys, so that only allowes him to use certain axles. Im also interested in what transfercase he uses.

I think he should build a second one which is identical to his current one, and start a muesum of dsm at buschurs shop. His car can be the main attraction.

Yes but it doesn't list his rear end on his site. I'm not complaining Shep is a pro and they have the right to hide exactly what they're using on parts of their setup. People can speculate all they want but I doubt he's going to be sharing what he's using for a while. So who cares! None of us need to hold down that kind of power anyways. If someone's breaking rear ends right and left like he was give him a call and see if you can work something out. :D Sounds like a deal to me. So who wants to bet me we'll be even more shocked next year?

Damn what's that? Looks like a 9" rear end with a ladder bar suspension setup.

It most certainly is a 9" rear end people!

Where did this information come from? I'm not saying I don't believe you but I can tell you that just by looking at the pic it may not be a ford 9". He has a custom aluminum housing rear and for all I know it may be a mark williams 8.8 or something similar. If I were going to put a ford rear in the car I would most likely do a 9" but a 33 splined 8.8 isn't break either with the power shep puts down out the hole.

Also, it is not a ladder bar setup, its a 4 link.

You're obviously an idiot. Why would anyone take a custom aluminum housing and put a POS 8.8 rear in it when running 7s? This isn't some 12second crap stang. You obviously don't know your way around a real race car either if you think that is a 4link setup. :toobad:

Now which do you see under sheps car? A LADDER BAR setup. NOT a 4link. I think you should step away from the keyboard for a little bit and be around race cars some more before you spread more miss-information.

The fact that I've helped build numerous mustangs that include installing traction lift bars, solid upper and lowers, antiroll bars, must thwart my rear end knowledge compared to yours. I was just suggesting the possibility of what the rear could be. The fact that I was underneath Sheps car that afternoon while at MIR plus talking with him after his runs probably qualifies me as a total idiot like you suggest. If you look closely to the pic you'll see another bar running up top. It is a 100% 4 link rear setup.

You need to take your head out of your ass and maybe pay close attention to some of the faster mustangs on the planet. Numerous mustangs that make obscene amounts of power run built 8.8 rears, ones such as this one owned by Tim Lynch:
1300whp Street Car

My brother-in-law Aaron Brown worked on Shep's rear end at Norwalk, he used to have a ladder link and switched over to a 4-link. So now it has a 9'' 4-link. But I'm more then sure if your are so concerned Shep will be more then happy to answer any questions that you may have concerning his setup.
