Just 1 1/2 months ago I got over a broken foot. Now I tore my Meniscus Tendon in my knee in half. Not fun. Go in for surgery on Thursday.

I was trying this crazy gap riding some downtown street here in KCMO. And I thought I should tail-whip over the street. Uhh, bad idea. Almost caught my right pedal, but slipped off my crank arm and landed right on my knee and rolled down the street a few times.ROFL

Here is some info on it.

Knee injuries suck dude. I broke my tibial tuberosity a few years back, it's not on that chart but it's right above where the arrow is showing the TIBIA right below the medial and lateral meniscus. I still have a screw in there up until today and my knee is only about 80%. I had to wear a straight cast for 2 months after surgery and then I had to go through 3 months of painful therapy to get back full range of motion. Hope you get better/heal fast and wish you luck.

EDIT: Made my own pic/chart.

That's rough man. Hope the surgery goes well and godspeed on a quick recovery!

I had that exact surgery 2 and a half weeks ago now. My meniscus was torn in half, and then that part in half again. IT was in an area with little to no blood flow, so they just took it out and called it good. Easiest surgery I've ever had. You're getting arthroscopy, too, right? I was actually walking around without crutches the night that I got home from the hospital (literally like 2 hours after the operation). I was driving about 3 days later, and I am able to run now, just the doctors say don't yet :shhh: I also got a handicapped parking pass until November 1st (but, like I said, thats like 2 months and I really only needed it for a few days) and all the vicodin I could ask for. It really wasn't such a bad deal. Just make sure you get your surgery scheduled early in the day so you don't have to starve yourself all day long.

EDIT: My doctor even gave me a video of what he was seeing through the arthroscopy camera, let me know if you wanna see it ahead of time or maybe after if your doc won't give you one.

I know how that feels. About 5 years ago in the middle of a wide slalom ski race some dumbass decided to run out in my path. I had to swerve quickly which caused me to bail going at a damn fast speed. I felt something tear inside my right knee and could move my lower leg in any direction I wanted to. Got rushed down the skihill to the hospital and found out that I had torn both the meniscus' and the ligaments. Haven't been able to use it the same since (it's also turned inwards by over 35 degrees).

Wow, that must of been scary. What was the rehabilitation like? How long?

Pic of said gap. Otherwise, suck it up :)

I thought I broke my hand a few weeks back. I went to 50-50 down a wall, and my front peg just nipped the lip of the concrete enough to throw me back down into the ledge, fingers first. Not broken, obviously, but it sure hurt :)

Rehabilition was some surgery (I cant remember what it was) and then 8 months of continual physiotherapy twice a week for an hour and a half each day. As for how long, it'll never be fully fixed, and I go for physio once every month or two now.

knee surgery last year....Don't even notice it much now.

For long term damage mine was minimal but for pain it sucked. I hyper extended the knee (and thankfully didn't tear every ligament in half) and sucked the soft tissue in front of the knee through it displacing the cartlidge. Eventually everything went back and they only had to remove a golf ball sized piece of scar tissue from behind the knee cap.

When I would get that scar tissue stuck between the knee bones i would literally fall down in pain...had to drag myself to the bathroom one night because I couldn't stand after the pain (brain wouldn't let me no matter how hard I tried).

I waited 3 months for the surgery. It sucked really bad but allowed the other items to realign and heal themselves.

All in all this was better than the 80 stitches around the right eye....amazing you can't tell about that one today either...I love plastic surgons.

crank just call me "record holder for most stitches above the neck"

Better yet, I have video on my phone. I'll upload here soon.:rocks:
