here is the thing, this winter im about to drop about 7-8 grand on my talon, I've been looking at alot of vendor sites and slowboy has alot of stuff that I want like built engines, gaskets and hardware of OEM spec. My question is: "is there any other sites that offers all of this stuff just as much as slowboy has?

My fear is: I heard so much about slowboy from www.vendors-reviewed.com and I heard some bad and some good, my fear is not getting my stuff on time, and I've heard about stuff being back ordered and some people not recieving their parts within a reasonable amount of time. My question is: "Is their more good than bad service with slowboy?

I would like to know of a site that has all of this with excellent customer service...this is some of the stuff I am getting and some of the sites im getting it from. The stuff in "?" is I don't know where to get, so feel free to let me know where you guys got these parts.

As stated, there are many vendors to source parts from.

The thing you have to remember is the bigger ones also have more volume of products flowing through their doors. With the higher volume come people that for whatever reason are not going to be satisfied with their purchase, products, or delivery times. When you call just ask a few basic questions, especially when working on a tight timetable...What's the "out the door" time? Who do you use for shipping? Can you ship overnight (or whatever)? Is this product on back-order? Questions along those lines will give you a better idea of what to expect when laying down that hard earned cash.

And hell yea, shop around. You will definitely find several vendors that sell the exact same parts at a wildly different price. It's your money, be satisfied when you spend it.

My own experience with SBR: I've purchased around $2K worth of parts from them over the past 2-3 years within 6-8 different orders. All arrived within 10 days (ground shipping) from the order/payment date. The only issue I had was on one order for my fuel setup (Aeromotive 1309 AFPR, B&M fuel pressure gauge, and the braided SST fuel feed and return kits). I received the parts with the exception of a B&M Command Flow FPR kit instead of the B&M fuel pressure gauge. I called SBR the next day about it, and they had a new one heading my way that afternoon with a sticker/ticket to send the wrong part back. Received the correct part within a week. It didn't bother me as I wasn't even ready for the fuel parts when I ordered them.

With the service I've received I wouldn't hesitate to recommend SBR for parts.

I agree with FORMONTOYA about SBR, I have had no problems with them or any parts I have gotten from them. What I tell everyone else is that if your ordering a part that is custom made by them do some searches to find out others experiences with that particular part. But I have found in alot of cases that they have cheaper prices on many parts that are made by well known vendors and its not like ACT builds a clutch specifically for SBR that is not up to spec or something.

Slowboy has been very good to me I spent 5k there this year....

they do alot of drop shipments for different things, so they dont have to keep them in stock....

If your ordering a turbo that needs to be built or an engine you can expect some time delays...

Slowboy's Intercooler in my eyes is one of the best...search for the thermal pic of it.

I wont hesitate to spend more money there this winter....

Thanks for the positive feedback guys!!

We're always trying to fix any issues there would have been, and we've been changing around our shipping/inventory dept to be able to give accurrate shipping times.

Oh, and here's the thermal pic!

SBR

Can you give more background behind the thermal imagery that was used on the SBR intercooler?

What are you referencing against to make that statement?

I like most of the people that work at SBR and would like to always be able to shop with them but I have a few suggestions. If something is backordered or going to be late, let the customer know ASAP. Normally I do not need something rushed to my door, but I do expect it to be there within a week or two of when I order it. If it is going to take longer than that all you have to do is tell me as soon as you know this that there will be a little extra delay. Don't just have me waiting. Also, I love the SBR 2g FMIC and have gotten 3 local friends to buy it but the flanges where it bolts to the rad support are absolutely horrible. None of the kits that we had were exactly the same, and all of the holes required massive reaming or redrilling to fit correctly. Other than that I think everthing has been OK.

Multiple vendors can be very very good and useful.

DSMotorsport though... they've always been backordered with OEM parts. Kind of a headache, but they'll come through.

Slowboy has always been good and friendly with me.

If you use one company for all your stuff, they can (and bear with the metaphor here) act like a pharmacy. SBR would be able to sit there and listen to all you wants and then tell you if there are any contraindications with what you just purchased so that you wouldn't have difficulty down the line. Personally, when I place any order and I have questions, or wanted to order something important along the lines of a turbo or more important/bigger then I'd ALWAYS call to make that order.

At the very least, stick with the common DSM vendors so you don't get screwed!

There's no reason to discuss the pro's and con's of going to SBR. The question from the beginning of this thread has been who to go to besides SBR. If you guys don't have anything to say regarding that question don't say anything. If you want to review SBR go to www.vendors-reviewed.com and do it there.

My advice is to research this for yourself so you are more informed when you make your decision. You can always PM people for more specific information if you need to.

I was very methodical about the way I posted my reply. No feedback on the relationship I've had with them. Just posted the name of shops that I use without henderance.

Slowboy hooked me up with a $300 Manifold for $10..... so what if I won it in a raffle, it still is a cool deal. They told me that they would drill the hole for the Wastegate for free. The only reason I did not add them to my previous post is that is because he did not want it.

Good choice to not buying slowboy. (any more comment on that end violates policy) But extremepsi has comparable products and their inventory is up to date with fast/reliable ship times. never steer'd me wrong.

I would call a couple of them with the laundry list of parts that you want, and work them against each other to get the best deal.

If a company is looking at a large order like yours, they will certainly offer some type of discount.

Have fun!

+1

Im still waiting on my turbo timer harness..... Ordered it at the beginning of October.

This is the only time that I have ever had any type of issue with SBR. All of the other vendors mentioned, I have delt with (except for bushur and dont plan too) and they were all great. Dont worry about it, just order your parts and install them and go faster!:p
