does such a part exist? all i can find anywhere is goddamn inserts, but my shitty 11 year old rubber mount is torn to hell, and my transmission is just sitting on my subframe because of it.

i don't want to go buy a new mount from mitsu just to stick an insert in it, that's stupid. i just want a solid prothane mount that fills the entire metal hoop. why does it seem like no one makes them?

I feel good about DIY :thumb:

but with college going it is very hard to find time to do things like this, especially if the car has to be out of commision on a jack while the resin dries. I'll use this as a last resort...if anyone knows of a vendor who sells a solid prothane front mount for a 2g, by all means link me

I'd say your best bet would be to look for 2g part outs. I've seen plenty in the past weeks and is a part that most people would not ask for. So you have better chances of getting it

Here is a link of 2g part outs at our own classified section and they have positive feedbacks

This link below says it has motor mounts for sale with poly inserts
http://www.dsmtuners.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=51436&cat=7

Also check out other sites, like Dsmtalk and DSMsource.com for 2g part outs and you should find it.

Hope this helps

Buschur had solid mounts made for the EVO, full replacements. I wonder what the odds are they are the same size as the 2g? IIRC, they look close enough to make this worth loking into. I could check mine, but I won't be getting under the car any time soon. You might want to call bushur and see if they can help. The EVO mounts are VERY stiff though, but I don't mind it.

I would love to have a Set of full soild mounts! Anyone know who makes them for 2Gs and 1Gs.

They Sell That bi*** At Advandced Auto Parts Just Bought One 3 Month Ago For Like 53 Dollars

I think your keyboard is broken, it capitalized every word.

A full replacement mount would be better than a stock replacement with the prothane inserts, and I believe this is what the thread is really about.

I think Buscher does make them for the 2g/1g. for both the front and the rear mount.
According to this thread.

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=209824

and here

http://buschurforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14480

looks like 85 shipped for a pair (both front and rear full replacement solid)

But that was the price back in january.
I'm sure it has changed.
I believe you'd have to call or email to get them, as i haven't seen them on his site.

Yeah Buschur had been talking about them, but like you said I never saw them listed for sale. You can always call though. They might be willing to make them up special for you or something, or they're just not advertising them for some reason.

They would appear to be different as I remember Buschur had talked about making them for the 2g as well a few months back (someone found the link & posted it above). I'm not sure if they ever went through with the 2g mounts, best bet is to give them a call and let us know as Im sure there are others on here that would be interested in them :thumb:

Wow. look at that, I never knew that.

I would pick up some used mounts, the inserts and some window weld. Burn out the old stuff, put the prothane's in and fill the rest up with window weld.

1g kits have a solid rear piece and only a front insert, 2g kits use molded inserts for front and rear.

85 sounds about right, that's what I paid for my EVO set. They would be foolish to not also make these for 2Gs since they already have access to a manufacturer for the EVO versions, so I'm sure they are available.

The solid steel mounts for the front at least have been around longer than I have been into DSMs. They might be useful on a huge HP race car, but I think they would be a very bad idea on a car that sees any street mileage. The whole thing would probably vibrate to shit. It's bad enough with a stroker and prothanes as it is :D

well i give up, i'm going to go this route.

i'll post results here. hey, maybe i could make some out of the extra resin i'll have and sell them :p

probably against some rule here though. then again, it's not like anyone else is selling them.

So does this mean Buschur didn't go through with producing these for the 2g's?

I know i'm a little late to the party but I'm going to have a shop start to build me all 4 solid metal motor mounts within the next 3 months.
I'll let you know how they come along.

When I was looking into this somebody suggested that one of the other mounts in the kit would fit into the front. I think it was the rear mount fitting into the front mount. You might want to measure the mounts and see if the front is the same size as the back, diameter and width. It's worth a shot, at least. *edit* This was for 1gs, not sure about 2g cars, but hell, still worth a shot.

Does anyone know any more about this? Using the rear mount as a full insert for the front, and vice versa?

I'm trying to do this right now, and no one seems to know whats up.

Also, which is better to have mroe solid, front or rear? And if anyone did this in an a/t let me know, my problems are very a/t pertinent.
