Hi, I'm just curious at what kind of MPG (miles per gallon) or how many miles you are getting per full tank?

please list mods and type of driving

I'm currently getting around 210-230 miles per full tank, i fill my tank with exactly 11 gallons of 92 octane. thats what 20 bucks buy in hawaii.

right now i have just an intake, 2.5 dp and 3in full piping catback

car is just used for transportation, once in a while i would just sample it a few times.

is it just me or when the gas light is on and when i go to fill up. It automattically stops at approx. 13 gallons even though are tanks are 17galllons? Does that mean our emergency gas is 4 gallons?

95 Eclipse GST

Hahn Super 20G
Walbro 255
Hahn 625cc injectors
Apexi SAFC
21psi

I ride it easy sometimes and run it hard sometimes. I get around 20 miles to a gallon

The way I understood it was that our fuel level sender unit had a faulty wiring problem of sorts, which caused the fuel light to come on at incorrect levels. For instance, mine comes on after about 10 gallons, then off, and then again after about 12.5-13.

95 GSX manual stock - 19-20 mpg
95 GSX manual modded - 24 mpg

Seriously? 16.9 gallons? Hell, I've been filling up way too early! I usually fill up around 11-12 gallons and the low fuel light is just coming on. Most of my driving is in town and I get about 24mpg with an AWD Auto 2G.

see if you have a crack in your manifold (exhaust)

when i replaced mine at the same time with a new o2 sensor i went from 150-190 to 350 per tank.

how ya like me now???

Wow, Toyota Prius' are envious that you're getting 150mpg.

Ok ok.. he's already been harpooned enough for that.

Ground wire on downpipe needs to be attached for correct o2 grounding.
Remove some lead in the foot and drive her nicely if you want better economy.
Check your A/F's should be around 14.5-14.9 at idle and cruising around.
theres a grounding wire for the O2 sensor? Could that be the little yellow skinny wire dangling down around my alternator?

Check the O2 again because i have had brand new mitsu units break with only a month of driving on them.

And to the other guy who is having egr codes and MAP problems what type of engine management are you running? you have a 2.4 in you 2g with a stock ecu?

hey just wondering whats everyone getting on their mpg with their eclipse, and what mods you got, im getting pretty bad mileage(20) mostly all highway too, all i got is a cai and exhaust .. for those who are getting it pretty good you got any tips? .. besides the watch your right foot ..

I use a 99 GS and I am getting 35+ also on highway when I stay off it and keep the rpm's around 3000.. When I drive like I think my slow car is fast then probably like 25 or so... also have 107k on it

You couldn't possibly search for this? There are many possible factors that can contribute to poor fuel economy. I could start a list, or maybe you'll find them on your own...I'd say start with your general preventative maintenace if it's been ignored.

Hell I get 25 with a mix of city and highway while running 30# injectors and boosting 8psi.

I have been doing alot of driving lately. For highway driving from killeen texas to ft leonard wood missouri I got 24 MPG with a constant 14.7:1 afr at 3500 rpm. Recently someone hipped me to this lean burn thing. Basically crusing at 16:1 Afr on the highway. Aweek ago I set me car up with a tune that gets me there and the gas milage is amazing. I went for a trip to springfield and back and got 35 mpg. This is with 660cc injectors and dsmap for tuning.

16:1?! OMG

Is that safe for stock internals? Sounds very lean and harsh, but I could be wrong, since you're just cruising...

I'm getting bad gas mileage out of my 95 eclipse GSX automatic. It isn't terrible, but for a 4 cylinder, I'd think it'd be better than 20mpg. I've checked my o2 sensor, and it's fine. I have a 14b with the cat removed. I'm missing a few things, which I can't imagine causing it, but I'm missing my evap system, which I've left uncapped because I found it should be left uncapped to keep pressure out of the tank. I'm missing my MDP sensor, my fuel pressure solenoid and my EGR (Assumed because I have an EVO IM). Spark plugs look new. And I don't have a datalogger. I'm kinda running short on things to start looking at to help improve my gas mileage. I've tried fuel injector cleaners, restore, and other fluid additives, but I'm still not getting anything better than 21mpg max. Someone wanna point me in the right direction?

On a recent trek up I-85 to Williamsburg (Busch Gardens) for vacation, which is a 5-6 hour drive... The GSX got 28-39 miles to the gallon. I was rather impressed. In town throughout my normal week I get between 20-25mpg. Thats with the occasional "high speed" back road run, some highway, some city. Overall, I am pleased with my mpg. Much then my cousins 01 SS Camaro. She gets 20 or less with her driving habits.

This is an auto as well, btw, with no tuning at all.

I was just looking for what people were getting on fuel mileage. I read some other posts, but I figured I might as well hear some more input. Many people were getting from 160-250 depending on the boost they are running. I was curious if anyone else had comparative fuel mileages depending on what boost they were running? That's cool, in my opinion. I like seeing the differences.

Also, any thoughts on what upgrades would help you fuel mileage? I know my cousin had an Evo VIII and he increased his hp up to 330 at the wheels and while doing this he also increased his fuel mileage up about 5mpg to 33mpg on the freeway. Of course on of the mods he did was lea out the mixture. Either way, just curious what people thought.

I will average 200 to a tank with a mix of city and highway diving. On highway alone ( even doing some long 4th and 5th gear pulls for tuning ) i Can get damn near 100 miles out of the first 1/4 tank with a good tune. My mileage goes down hill when it gets cold, warming up the car, extra fuel for the colder denser air and so forth.

worst days 16 MPG

best days a tad over 30

On my old 550's i was able to get over 35 MPG highway by turning the fuel trim knob way lean on cruising loads. At about 16-18:1 AFR or somewhere in that range, I've even got away with 19:1 on the highway before too.
