I am going to be buying a wide band o2 sensor to help get my tuning dialed in the right way. I am just curious as to what your guys opinions are on the different brands out there and what your experiences are with them. I have been looking at the PLX Devices model M-300 . I don't want to spend more than $350. Also what fuel ratio should i tune for with a wide band. Thanks for the help!!!

I have a PLX-250 and it's great. The 300 is good but you would really need a way to log it. Driving around watching the guage is ok but when you go to tune it it will make it a lot easier if you can compare a/f ratios to when and where the rest of the engine parameters are. I don't know your mods but what are you tuning with Safc,Dsmlink, ect... The a/f ratio just depends on what your engine likes. Most likely it'll end up around 11:1. You'll find the more boost you run the richer you'll have to go.

I have the AEM gauge unit and I have the 0-5V output wire hooked up to the rear O2 sensor pin on the ECU. I can log wide band O2 volts with my pocket logger. And later I will be switching to DSMlink which is also compatible with the gauge unit.

Works well.

How do you hook up the m-250 to the car so you can log it with a datalogger? I am guessing it has something to do with the 0-5v out. Can it only be done with 2gs because I drive a 1g? Also I am tunning with a s-afc and a datalogger.

I don't kown much about 1G's and their ECU pin location, I would guess that you could also log rear O2 data on your 1G right ?. So I can only assume that you could do what I did and cut the rear signal before it goes into the ECU and splice the 0-5v wire into that......and record your data. But like my ECU yours will only record volts below 1.27 so unless you are WOT you won't see much on your logger till you go WOT.

1gs have only one o2 sensor. So is it even possible to hook this up to my car?

I use the m-250 because I have a standalone.(Electromotive TEC3). It will log anything 0-5 volts. That's why I was kinda suggesting to go with one of the other widebands that can log themselves!

Its possible on a 1g ,Aim putting the 0-5 volt out from my Zeitronix the EGR temp wire but its a pain to convert it back to AFR . I put the logs in Excel and do the crunching to get it back to volts and look it up on a chart .Hard to do in the Field ,easier to use the software it comes with . But yes it can be done . And I like my Zeitronix , seems to work well and affordable .

How do you log with the zeitronics z-2. Is there a button you press and then it starts logging? Then how do you transfer the logged info into your computer?

If you use the optional LCD screen then you can not log it to a pc ,you would only need a pc if you wont to log it and have a record of the log.Hope this answers you question

I wouldnt need to save it for any long length of time. Just so that i would be able to go back and look at the a/f ratio at the rpm points after i do a run. Is the only way to do this with a lap top in the car? Or is there a way to load it into my computer at home?

Their site say nothing about play back or any thing like downloading the lcd to a computer only hold and peak ,so to have a log you would need a pc in the car the way I see it .
