I have a question and a slight problem: I recently switched the exhaust housing on my turbo because the old one had cracks in it (i have a 14b). The old one was ported and the new one is ported as well( though not as much as the old one). At the same time I switched exhaust manifold because the old one was severely cracked. its still a stock mani. ,but this one is ported. Now when I drive my car, the A/F gauge doesn't read the same. it doesn't sweep back and forth as much, it usually sits at lean and when it does sweep (though somewhat rare) it only sweeps from lean to stoich. Also, under full throttle, it reads at stoich(a little towards rich). This is a problem because it used to always sweep from lean to rich at all times and under WOT it used to read at rich. So now the question: did swapping those parts somehow change my A/F ratio? I don't see how it would, and if it didnt, what would be causing the different reading? please let me know if u have any ideas, questions, or answers. thanks. :talon:

How are you reading your A/F? Im assuming its from a Autometer type gauge. This is a completely useless way to view your A/F ratio. The readings on these gauges have no significance whatsoever other then maybe telling you your O2 sensor is going bad. If anything has changed the gauges readout it's either the O2 sensor going out on you (unlikely), or an exhaust leak between the manifold and the O2 Sensor (more likely, especially after a turbo install).

Like I said the readouts you see on the A/F gauge are vague at best. If you installed the turbo with new gaskets and torqued to specs then there will be no leaks thus no change in measures A/F Ratio.

Those dancing light gauges are worthless. Get yourself a datalogger and find out how you're running.. it seems like you're running lean, so richen it up a bit. What kind of boost are you running?

I'm running close to 15 psi of boost, and yes it is an autometer gauge. I'd doubt that its an exhaust leak because I bolted everything up good, but I guess it could still be possible along with the O2 sensor possibility. Yesterday when i was driving it, I noticed under more throttle that it was getting into the rich area and at WOT it would read just barely on the rich side.
