i was originally going to go w/evo3 but now im thinking i might just say fawk it, save for another 2 months and get a fp3052.
im afraid that w/a 4k restalled converter that i wont be able to make boost when i launch. should i save more and just get a bullet tq?
i was hoping to get the ipt trans by fall but since i might go w/ fp30 ill have to push the trans untill winter or spring :mad:
but i guess i could just run low boost until i get money for a rebuild right?
or maby my trans can hold up to 350-400 whp?
god damnit im going nuts! im going to start buying parts this month but cant decide WTF im going to do :cry:
sorry about all the mixedassup questions. does anybody have any insight 4 me? :talon:
 
you will be able to build boost with that converter,save up and buy the big dog....
 
I have a 60-1 on my car and a stock converter and I do not see any boost off the line when I brake boost. I highly recommend getting the billet converter if you are getting a big turbo. On that note the converter is my next mod.
 
The correct converter is one of the most important components in any auto trans equipped vehicle.

We can all talk horsepower and dyno numbers with a huge turbo and supporting mods, but the fact is that getting from A to B in the shortest amount of time is what counts (at least in my world).

With a large turbo and a modified stock diameter converter, the car may never leave right and 60 ft. is extremely important to low ET.
The rule of thumb is .10 in 60 foot equals .20 in ET.

I have seen cars reduce ET big time with the right converter- this is without making a single additional horsepower or foot pound of torque.

On a side note, at high power levels, these transmissions simply don't hold up very well in stock form.

20psi by 3600 is what they are saying with the FP3052. I have it as well as John's restalled stock TC. On my 16G, I was able to build 22psi on the line by 3500 rpms. I don't think you will have a problem getting full boost with the FP3052 off the line but I will confirm that in the Spring.
 
transdude, you dont think its safe to run 350-400 whp while i save up for the full ipt trans? (i will have shiftkit,endclutch & cooler) man this sucks ass.
do you guys know whats the lowest psi i can set the 3052?thanks for the help.

Whatever the weakest spring on the Tial 44mm wastegate is.

thanks dude. just talked to sbr and was told that the spring isnt really hard to change so im going for a the .6 bar one.8.7 pounds of boost.LOL. not even sure if thats going to spool my turbo LOL... but i can go till around 16psi so ill see how it works out.
and ill swap it out after i get the ipt trans. :thumb:

Tough question to answer.

It probably depends on the condition of your factory trans and also the mysterious issue that some factory units hold up better than others for whatever reason.

hey if i were to purchase a quaife lsd with the speedo gear would bol right into my auto trans???
