I sold my entire Evo16g setup and am upgrading everything to support the to4. Ordering this FMIC, I didnt realize it would actually be this HUGE. The top of the FMIC is the top of the bumper! Anyway, I'm wondering how you 90' owners route your driverside piping to the front? I noticed what looked like a wall of the frame sort of blocking the path. Did you guys cut this or is there another way? Pretty excited to get it all done to finish writing the review for David at Bullseye and Chris from Logic. :thumb:

Have fun getting your running lights to fit in there with those mounting bolts where they are. Also, you get to run the slightly longer path of having the piping run around everything on the driv. side. You might be able to get away with cutting that little divider wall out. I can't offer a true solution since I didn't have that problem. Buy a real FMIC core that actually does the short route piping and make your life a LOT easier :)

LOL if you think cutting a small plastic piece on the running lights is difficult or cutting the small wall to route the piping a few inches further out is hard, I can see why you would spend so much money on a 'real' FMIC (whatever that means) or other products to be on the safe side. The 500 or more I saved on this core I figure can go into something more useful. Just my .02. Or maybe I should say .005  How about some of you JRC people who HAVE ran a custom core and can actually give feedback on your driverside routing.

Ok well if you want to be a jack ass about it that wall thing that’s your frame rail. Say it slowly. Yes cut a big old chunk out of that and watch what happens it sucks. Not to mention, with that large of a fmic. Forget airflow for your radiator. Your going to need to blow that 500 on a set of 1200cfm fans and a fluidine radiator.

Next week your post will be why does my car over head with this cheap product. What kind of r&d went into that? I put money in it that my ic that is 1/2 the size is twice as efficient and well isn’t a cheap piece of crap. Not to mention that you’ll have an extra 5ft of piping. Not to mention I’ve fabricated more shit for my car than you could imagine.

Now Take your uneducated whiney 1/2 ass job and sell that piece of crap and mod once and mod right. Jesus noobies, i bet your last car was a Honda wasn’t it..

There's a reason why some of those really expensive fmic's cost as much as they do. Because they work. Find any of those $200 ebay cores on any 9 second cars? Doubt it. There's a few things you don't cheap out on. I believe in good turbos, good fmic's, and good cams. Those are 3 of teh biggest purchases you can make under the hood of the car. And I've nothing but the best for all 3. FP turbo, Spearco 2-216 fmic, and HKS cams.

Let us know how fast YOU go with your parts.

LOL...

 Time to grow up kids and have a life outside of tuners. I don't see how I was being an ass. All I said was in refrence to NOSLO2PT0 statement about making it sound difficult to do those things as if he knows it'll be hard for me? Did I call him a noob? No. Did I assume he drove a honda previously. No. How about you stop taking offense to things that arent even directed to you and keep posting on topic :thumb:

I honestly think people like replying to things only to prove their knowledge and how fast their car is even if it doesnt relate to the topic...hmm.

I didn't ask for opinions on what you think is best for me did I? Did the topic magically change? The only one's being an ass now are you 2 :)

I can't offer a true solution since I didn't have that problem.

Right. I understand that. So the post should have ended there to stay on topic, but I respect your opinion.

Yes cut a big old chunk out of that and watch what happens it sucks

Hmm ok, I'll make sure and ask these people:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=48089&password=0&sort=2&cat=501&page=50

with that large of a fmic. Forget airflow for your radiator

Again, you should talk to NOSLO2PT0 and other people with a Race core from SBR, Dejon, and others that 'cover the radiator' and see if they have problems. Also the above link to the person running the same exact core. Whether you guys/gals believe it or not, people HAVE bought this core before and haven't had a problem.

Really guys I'm not trying to come off as a Dick. I just started this post to see maybe some pics of some people with a 90 that have routed piping over by the oil cooler. But when you start posting like you know whats best for everyone and how 'it should be done', don't be surprised with a reply that tries to stay on topic. Man, this site really IS turning into that other unmentionable forum. Please stop attacking me only because of the fact that I was defending myself, my purchase, and my car skills (or lack there of according to you  ).

Jesus noobies, i bet your last car was a Honda wasn’t it..
No, it wasn't. It was a Nissan pickup truck actually :thumb: Can we get back on topic now? I really don't want this thread to be locked just because people get hurt over nothing...

I,ve got a slow boy front mount, but the ins and outs on it arent like yours, they shoot straight back, if that made any sense. But what i would suggest is to run the piping in front of the wheel, as in run it---------> and then a 180 back in. hopefully that made sense, i had to do it on my friends car, and you will need to trim abit if you want to run anything bigger then 2" piping. If you want me to be more specific, let me know i can go into detail.

:thumb: Yeah thanks. I found out what you were talking about earlier today and took some pics to do a review later since some of the other 90' owners' have asked this question and havent gotten any release answers yet.

Like that, right? I'm planning on bending or cutting the red section back a bit so the 2.5" sits a bit more flush, but it would work this way.

my_gst95

yup, thats exactly what i was talking about. :thumb:

Plus i think it looks pretty cool when you have the intercooler piping showing threw the bumper.

Edit: i would cut the red section, dont bother bending it, i'm sure it has nothing to do with the structual integrity of your car. Well atleast the section that is shaded in. :dsm:
