I bought a FP Green setup on eBay, brand new, from a private seller. My friend was having computer problems (we used his account) so the original Paypal invoice was lost. I explained to him that I would need a few days to transfer money around, and he said that was fine. It took 10 days total (only 5 business days, which I told him it would take a few) because of weekends and the recent President's Day, on which my bank is not open.

I transfer the money through Paypal, only to get the money returned to me 2 hours or so later.

This, in itself, is a problem. However, on top of this, Paypal charges me 2.9%, so I just lost $27.71.

I have been in contact with him, and he tried saying he e-mailed my friends account and said not to send the money, which is complete bullshit because I had been checking his e-mail every day from my house.

He claims I took too long, even though he set no date on his auction as to how long the winner had to pay, and I explained to him I needed to transfer the money.

At this point, I just really wanted to setup, so I offered to transfer the money back over, including the $27.71 that he also "claims" to have been charged. This is also bullshit. I have a "Premier" account, which allows me to accept credit cards, and this is why I am charged. He has a regular account, which charges nothing. He e-mails back saying that he already sold the setup, and that all he has left is an EPROM and a 1G throttle body.

I wish I could give out the name to find more info on him, but this site won't allow it, and goodguybadguy.org is down. I already contacted eBay about this. I just want my 27 bucks back.

Later,

Thats shitty jesse, It could have been worse at least no one shot out your windows with a BB gun. Althou im sure everyone on this site will attack you and blame you for your lose. Thats what they always seem to do.. You have no luck my friend

Consider yourself lucky. Its much worse to buy a turbo on ebay, pay with a money order, and never receive the turbo. Walking to your car to go to work and finding a $700 system stolen is no fun either :thumbdown

He1l must be running out of room

Don't get me wrong, I am happy that I got (most of) my money back. But still, it's a lousy situation.

Contact PayPal, on a refund there aren't any charges to either party and inform the other guy he messed up and should have done a refund on the original transaction to make it work that way rather than sending you money.

I feel ya on losing $. I just lost $700 last month on a turbo. And it was from a shop Ive ordered from before. First they tell me the turbo was lost. Then they tell me they credited the $ back to my checking account. 4 weeks later and I havent gotten a credit. I had to file fraud charges with the fbi and now Im just waiting. I just hope I can get at least half of what I spent back.

losing $$ sucks, but i think the thing that sucks the most is not gettin
the item you were origanlly intrested in. i collect sneakers and found a pair
that ive been wanting for years, i sent the kid the money but he never
sent the shoes. he claimed that there was a strike at the post office and that
he did mail them out. its been two months, but im not mad about the money
i wanted the damn shoes. good luck in gettin your money back.
