26psi on an sbr GT-13 and 100 shot, spinning through fourth. If any of you kno what youre looking at, its an eagle rod. Talk about ownage! Car was tuned right with a 12.0 a/f ratio and no knock. Too much power i guess. OMG

ps. its not my car, a friends.

Cryo treated Eagles would cost what a set of Crowers would. I wouldnt worry about it unless you are looks for 600+

I guess im screwed then. No problem making 400whp on a 57 trim with race gas and high boost plus a 200 shot on top, I dont see how it couldnt make 600+.

DAMN! Jesse I wanted to ask you a few Qs. How many miles on that turbo? I seen you awhile ago when you were workin at a local shop w/ that turbo. Wondering how well it has held up. Also wondering where you are working at now? Wish you the best of luck with the stroker!

More nonsense in a thread. I've seen people with bigger setups make less power. It's about tuning. Throwing a shot on top of anything is a band aid for bad tuning, unless you've reached the peak efficiency from your turbo and motor. Somehow, I doubt you will.

Turbo has about 14k miles on it, seems ok, but I won't truely know until I get it on another engine. I don't work on cars anymore, just mine. Thanks

i know the car and i know jesse very well, there is no doubt in my mind that he was making enough power to fold the rod. when you are spinning the tires in 4th gear at over 100mph, your making some good power. and yes i know there are other things that could contribute to this like DETONATION, but that is just stupidity and probably jealousy saying that there is no way it could have been making enough power to fold the rod like that. it IS possible for someone in this area to have a faster car or know a little more than you(rdrkt).

wasnt mine - it was a galant gsx i had just finished a timing belt/water pump job on

the thing was purring like a kitten and the owner lost the oil drain plug and toasted her 50 miles later

the thing had been sitting for a year and the oil plug just wasnt checked - must've been loose

You said a lot of stupid things but this statement was correct so I wanted to bring it to the top. In case you weren’t aware I didn’t even have the fastest DSM in my COUNTY. Wes Hess lived about 10 miles from my house. In case you weren’t aware he runs 9s and runs 125 shot on top of 38lbs or more and this is on a Haltech so it would have no knock sensor. I know that there are LOTS of faster people in the world and there will always will be and I actually think that’s pretty cool.

As far as being more knowledgeable I have no doubt that this guy knows his stuff. I’m not a mechanic nor do I pretend to be one. But that doesn’t change facts.

Ok instead of continuing to argue this point. Let me ask this to everyone in this thread. How much power do you think it takes to bend an Eagle rod? 500? 600? 700? Are you or is anyone else aware of the type of power people have made on Eagle rods?

it would take over 600hp to do that, usaually. if there isn't any imperfections in the rod. or anything else like tuning or another bad engine part. yes i know how much power people have made on those rods. different setups and different circumstances also play a part in how engine parts react. there are so many possiblitys. and so is the possiblity that the rod just failed. and yes i know about wess. i was just trying to prove a point. thats all. not calling names.

I wouldnt think it would matter what Hp level you were running. Bad tuning and multiple cases of severe detonation would eventually take its toll on any rod. Ive got a block in my garage with a hole through the back a rod that looks close to that one. Its a stock rod but I think it seen around 300 hp daily nothin crazy but judging from the looks of the piston I would say detonation played more of a role than how hard that rod was. Just my opinion though!
